  1. Kep will have to do it the shower...he's done for tonight.
  2. It's actually Cory Provus doing the game on Fox with A.J. tonight. Provus is pretty damn good. I can see him taking over for Bremer, when Dickie decides to retire. Don't know how long I'll be able to stomach a Sox beat down, so if they keep piling on, I may bug out early to watch Svengoolie.
  3. WOW! What a difference! Much better and a nice view too!
  4. Winnable game last night that we blew. Another 3 run output by our lineup. I'm not going into what I think about how we handle our bullpen. Tough pitcher tonight in Cease. Very real possibility we lose again. Giolito tomorrow. He's having a down season, but still can be tough when he's on. If we get swept by the south siders, then go into NY for four games...it may not be very pretty. Tonight's game is on Fox, so no Dick and Glen show.
  5. In my opinion, anyway. What does everybody else think? We have possibly the best closer candidate to come down the pike in a very long time. Of course I mean Duran. I know he's a pretty raw rookie, but he's got 100 mph heat, filthy stuff, good command/control, and it sure doesn't look like the pressure gets to him at all. He's legit. I know there are concerns with his work load and use. That's understood. He's still the guy I'd put in the closer role. Ok, we trade for Lopez, who's had some success with Balt closing games this season. This is also his first year as a reliever/closer. His career numbers aren't that great, but he's done ok this year. We also lit him up in a couple games in a row earlier this year. For some reason, since we traded for him, he's appointed our closer, which Rocco really hasn't had any one specific guy doing before that this season. Lopez has been underwhelming to say the least, with another poor outing last night. Maybe he figures it out...maybe he doesn't, but I still say that Duran should be the closer, and Lopez the set up guy. We let another game slip away last night and we can't do that. Time is running out. What do you guys/gals think?
  6. Kep is really struggling. It sure would be nice if he could figure things out. He's hurting us.
  7. Just saw that Plesac broke his hand punching the mound out of frustration in his last start. He had some swelling this week and that's how they discovered the fracture.
  8. Gotta take at least 2 of 3 from the south siders. Every game is important now. If we go into Chi and play dead, then go into NY to get a whuppin...we're in big trouble.
  9. Don't really like to see guys go down with injuries, but Cleve lost Plesac and Civale today. Both are on the 15 day IL. Plesac broke his hand and Civale has forearm inflammation. I'm sure those are season enders for those two pitchers. If we can hold our own the next 10 games, and stay in the thick of it, we can catch them.
  10. I picked 5-5. If they do better than that, I'll be pleased as punch. They're coming out of the funk a little, but they still aren't looking like world beaters yet. They need to kick it into gear the next few weeks.
  11. He definitely leaves Ryan in much longer than the other starters.
  12. Ryan doesn't have it tonight. He's throwing cookies up there.
  13. Ryan up to 50 pitches already. Not gonna go deep into the game no matter what.
  14. Why? Organizational depth? Maybe we can't hit the guy, but someone has been. C'mon...we've got much better alternatives than Davis.
  15. Saw this a minute ago and couldn't believe it! They can't possibly be that desperate for arms.
  16. Archer loves to hit the 4th inning wall. Never fails.
  17. Rocco better get someone up in the pen. The end is getting real close for Archer.
  18. Agree on Provus...he's pretty good. Don't mind him a bit. Atteberry is the worst. Can't stand him. He likes to hear himself talk, and he must have a notebook in front of him with every cliche known to mankind, and he uses them constantly. Yes, it's probably time for Danny to get on the bike and head out.
  19. Absolutely not. He'll be in the rotation next spring.
