  1. Hmmn...could be interested. How much are you charging?
  2. I think the chances of us getting swept today/tonight, are much better than the chances of us doing the sweeping. If anyone is looking for me, I'll be out on the ledge.
  3. Took em long enough! The FO is sure good at wasting time.
  4. Great start by Ober. Let's hope the pen can hold it.
  5. A few more runs would be nice. I have a feeling we'll need them.
  6. I'd sure take 5 or 6 innings like this from Ober. This looks like another game where it could be a struggle for us to get runs.
  7. Garlick can't get up in the morning and brush his teeth without pulling something. As worthless as Kepler's been, I'd sure as hell rather have him in RF instead of Contreras. Kep usually hits well in that park. Is he that hurt? He's not on the Il unless I missed it. In any event...we need to find some magic and win 4 of 5 over there. I think this is our last chance.
  8. It ain't Ober...till it's Ober. Or until the generously proportioned, or rubenesque if you prefer (PC) lady sings. Unfortunately, I think I hear her getting her vocal chords ready right now. Do we have a chance? Yes, there's a chance. A good one? No. There's not much time left, and comebacks sure have happened before, but realistically...I'd be shocked if we somehow pull it off. I think for us to have any shot, we have to at least win 4 of the 5 games in Cleveland. That's a TALL order. It's do you believe in miracles time. If we go in there and stink the place up, then go ahead and stick a fork in this season. Anybody got a magic lamp laying around?
  9. Time for this team to put some wins together and show us something. Win tonight and then go into Cleve and get back what they lost last weekend.
  10. It's doubtful that someone will put in a claim for him with the contract he has, but you never know.
  11. Cleve beat the Angels again this afternoon. We need to win tonight or we're 6 back. I think it's just about time for Dandy Don to start singing.
  12. Lasorda was Walter Alston's 3rd base coach. When Alston retired, Lasorda became manager.
  13. Where was all this hitting over the weekend, when we were getting reamed by Cleve?
  14. Hopefully, that's the last we see of Archer. Time for him to try and jump-start his career with another team.
  15. Is there a Twins game today? I thought the season was already over. Did KC catch us? Are we in 4th place?
  16. Rocco can't do another one like last night. He didn't yank Bundy fast enough. If Archer tanks, he's gotta get pulled ASAP!
  17. The one I really wanted to go away, is the ridiculous runner on 2nd base in extras. Since there was no mention of that, I'm assuming it's staying. I'd trade one of the other changes for that in a heart beat!
  18. Per MLB, here's the explanation of the new shift restrictions: The four infielders must be within the outer boundary of the infield (i.e. cleats in the dirt) when the pitcher is on the rubber. Infielders may not switch sides. In other words, a team cannot reposition its best defender on the side of the infield the batter is more likely to hit the ball. If the infielders are not aligned properly at the time of the pitch, the offense can choose an automatic ball or the result of the play. This rule does not preclude a team from positioning an outfielder in the infield or in the shallow outfield grass in certain situations. But it does prohibit four-outfielder alignments. I can't wait to see these new rules implemented. I want the pitch clock, and I want the shift restrictions. The pitcher "disengaging" from the rubber will be interesting, and the size of the bases may or may not be a good idea...we'll see. All in all, I like what they're proposing.
