  1. Probably a dream, but I'd like to see 120 games in the field and around 20 at DH.
  2. The only way I'd extend him at this point is if there were some opt outs included, and I doubt his agent would go for that at this point in his career.
  3. I see he hasn't hit 100 IP at any level yet. Looks like relief is in his future. Yet another MiLB pitcher in the system that has injury issues.
  4. I hope he does a better job in this position than he did designing/approving the rebranding. I still don't understand why that was a need. What is wrong with traditional Logo's? Seems the yankees have done well sticking with the NY caps as long as I can remember, back into the late 50's.
  5. I could see them signing Narvaez on a 1 year make good type contract, or even 2 year small contract, but not over 3-5 mil AAV
  6. Interesting article! If as you say the Twins like to "focus" on the bomba rate, that may explain the number of higher strikeout guys they have had recently. IMHO, a team needs just as many guys with high OB% to complement HR swingers. 1 more need as I see it is a few guys that can run. Getting a guy on can only help. Blyleven used to say solo HR's wont win games, and I agree with him!
  7. I agree that RBI is still a very important stat. You looked a lot at runner on 3rd but I would like to see stats with runner on 2nd and how effective guys are. I personally like Abreu but don't think I would spend a huge contract on him, due mainly to his age and lack of defense, & position he plays.
  8. I hate the "M" caps! Keep the TC logo! Its traditional a lot like baseball is!
  9. AK has a lot to prove. To unseat a gold glove finalist at 1B is going to take much better health and some progress at the plate.
  10. You can take Cave off your list as he was claimed I think. I like a lot of your blueprint, though I would be concerned that they don't have the long relief (2-3 innings every 2-3 days) to get through the short starts of 5 or less innings.
  11. I can live with our starters IF we get at least 2 bullpen guys that can go 2-3 quality innings every other day!
  12. the only concern I have is how much he wore down last year as a starter/regular. Maybe playing DH more will help keep him fresh. I think 5/60 would get it done and be fair.
  13. I agree 100%. I can also addon a bit; Miranda said he will work with Correa on his fielding over the winter so should see some improvement. Polanco played hurt most of the year according to reports. Get him healthy should be improvement Management needs to do a much better job teaching and working on basic fundamentals of defense much more in ST, than they have in the past
  14. How do you plan around the unexpected? The Twins would be negligent to write Maeda's name in ink as a member of their rotation. If this is the way management feels, they will need 4-5 more starters. They can't count on anyone when it comes to injury. Seems to me they all carry risk, with some much more risk than Maeda!
  15. I hate to see Urshela go and don't think they got enough for him. However, they certainly need a guy like Farmer that can play decent defense AND hit leftys!
  16. I agree that its hard to give a lot of money to a 5 inning starter unless the guy is total lights out. The question I have is the limited innings on Gray because of his ability to get guys out 3rd and 4th time through, or is it on management following some sort of plan for all starters? If its the former it decreases his value, if its the latter we better get used to seeing younger, unproven starters or older guys in our rotation. The top dogs have an ego to fill and that isn't going 5 and fly!
  17. I believe Farmer is the insurance policy at ss. If they can't sign one of the big $$ guys. Otherwise he can be a Garlick type with a better glove.
  18. He did very well for his rookie season once he adjusted to MLB pitchers vs MiLB pitchers. He's hit at AAA & AA. No reason to worry about him adjusting to the pitching adjustments against him.
  19. Depending on cost I could see him at a corner OF spot for 2-3 mil. Wouldn't go much higher than that though.
  20. It sure seems to me like injuries are a major issue threw out the whole Twins system.
  21. I don't count on this coaching staff to "fix" anything or anyone. The article talks how he was in the strike zone, but there is a HUGE difference between good location in the zone, and meatballs in the zone. Pagan threw a lot of meatballs in the zone. Is that really the kind of command a team needs to be a decent reliever?
  22. I really wish him well. He had so much potential and then just kind of vaporized. Maybe got to hung up on swing plane or just swinging to hard? If he goes somewhere that can help him he will be a nice, cheap pick up.
  23. Sorry to see him go. Don't know much about the pitcher we got back, but I was hoping for a little better than 1 A ball pitcher.
  24. Urshela has much better numbers than Rosario had. IMHO the Twins would be foolish not to sign him. I like the idea of moving him back to ss if they can't sign C4. Pagan must go.
