  1. This was a reference to his kate hudson reported paintings above his bed... as a centaur. Nevermind. http://deadspin.com/5394232/a-rod-news-from-the-you-cant-make-this-stuff-up-department
  2. I totally agree. An outfield of Rosario, Buxton, Kepler would have erased a bunch of runs on the two flys that Grossman let fall for doubles. Just not enough range. Berrios sure could have used better d behind him, including Escobar's limited range that turned an out into a RBI single and Centeno launching a rocket into left field.
  3. Garver was runner up for the Johnny Bench collegiate catcher of the year award the year Turner won it. He has always hit better. Garver is the prospect.
  4. I saw the predicament coming when they traded Ramos! Mauer was destined to not last behind the plate, as all catchers share the same destiny.
  5. I too am hopeful about Gordon, but someone in org should give him special attention, lest he be unduly influenced by his older brother. If you grew up with an older brother, you might emphasize.
  6. Like political propaganda and spin, I make my own decisions and observations regardless of other's opinions. I have to consider that the mindtrust gave him virtually no third base work for a year and a half. Plus he is 23. Plus he is not so humble. Time will tell, but ONLY IF HE ACTUALLY PLAYS THIRD BASE! (sorry, using phone and site provides no italic option in this format.)
  7. Regardless of some of Sano's adventures, especially those simple pop ups, I have seen him make too many super athletic plays to prove that a fine third baseman is there that just needs reps and maturity. I hope the next GM is smart enough to see that.
  8. Dozier would have reached out and had his glove at thigh level and then showed to ump his glove, and Santana would have been safe. Correa keeps his glove low and makes the tag. I hope Dozier watches and learns. Might be too much to ask, though.
  9. I think he needs to practice running into walls in Rochester. Maybe he can play pepper bunt against the wall and practice bunting his own bounce backs too...... become one with the wall.... AND LEARN TO BUNT, TOO, for godsakes!
  10. Hell, I am on record as not liking another mediocre innings eater pitcher that consistently performed worse than his FIPs when he was signed! I love that he can now pitch batting practice for some other unfortunate team. It is amazing how similar Santiago looks physically to Nolasco. It will be like he never left but watching in a mirror. At least Santiago doesn't make us watch him grab his balls nearly as much as the record setting Nolasco!
  11. Some were suggesting this is a big win trade for the Twins. I offered, way back at the beginning of the comments, that the Angels were just as tired of Santiago as the Twins were of Nolasco, and called it a "big so what" trade. The rest is projection. No complaint. But no admiration for the move, either. Ambivalent. Good luck to Alex Meyer.
  12. Today's debut with the Twins is exactly what the Angels grew tired of: doesn't get past the 5th inning, two gopher balls (I love how Santiago says in his interview that he only made two bad pitches the whole game.....), and a couple walks. Hell, he even let Napoli steal second! A big "so what" trade.
  13. I guess it was a good day for a fire. I still feel this acquisition is a big so what. No upgrade. Nothing worse.
  14. I agree. I love ticket stubs, and don't hate much, but I hate that the electronic and print at home bar code. I want to cash them in when that is the only option for a real ticket, on card stock. It is just another way for the ownerships to be cheap. Make it an option for those who don't care, but never take the ticket stub away.
  15. Agree about the Hoey comparison. But I love trades for close, and have had enough of takes forever or never. My bet is he never sees the light of the show, or very little of it, especially with the walks and Twins Way.
  16. Again, I never said hate. I said were just as tired of...... you can hate if you like, but your words, not mine.
  17. Me either. Fools gold early..... Coal coming up.
