  1. The Twins are one injury away from really bad options at catcher. Now is the time to strike a deal. My gut tells me to go the third option for the longer hall but that price is high.
  2. I would enjoy listening to the games when I am out of town. Unfortunately, I no longer subscribe to SM/Sirius sat radio and MLB will not stream radio broadcasts w/o an MLB subscription. I am hardly a millennial but it seems to me that one way to attract a younger audience would be to allow them to receive their broadcasts on the device of their choice.
  3. Rochester's rotation must be pretty thin after Romero was called up. Who do they have besides Sieger?
  4. When Trevor May is ready, could that spell the end of Terry Ryan's Phil Hughes travesty?
  5. I have been really enthused by his frugality in pitch count. I don't have the data but it seems to me that so far this year, the tendencies are to have a low enough pitch count to go deeper into games. Great sign of development.
  6. I agree with your take on Grossman. That said, who do you think the Twins should replace him with?
  7. Is anyone else concerned about the lack of use of Moya and Kinley? I am not sure any pitching staff can afford to have 2 relievers who don't get to pitch. I know that the situations have not been exactly what they want for these two but I sure don't want to wear out the rest of the pen.
  8. I really thought the team would have learned what Sano's fate is by now. MLB is taking a snail's pace on this.
  9. I completely agree. I have often thought about writing a piece but feedback given to many who have posted thoughts on articles have been overly negative. I am not adept at fancy stats so if i post what my eyeballs tell me, it gets shut down by stats guys - probably correctly, but frustrating never the less. TD is my go-to site for Twins coverage and I want it to flourish.
  10. I look at those numbers and wonder if the difference in competition is taken into count. I am no stats guy, but it seems that the Rays play in a much tougher division full of bandbox ballparks.
  11. I still think the International signing money will be used as a trade option.
  12. Nice article Seth. I have to add that for me, just watching Rosario is a hoot. He seems to be having a lot of fun.
  13. I believe that Souhan's problem is that he really is not very good at what he does. When confronted by those that read his material, he falls back on the victim card. Yes, having access is an important bit for being a newspaper columnist. Having that, should come with at least a modicum of self-awareness. He loses on that mark. I subscribe to the Strib (mostly for Russo's stuff -oh well). I enjoy the writers each to a varying degree. That does not make them above criticism. Souhan obviously does not agree with me on that point. His remarks that the Twins officials had no problem with his account, seemed like cry in the dark. Would this same Twins official like to see the various bloggers and their readers go away? Or, was Souhan just puffing his chest to get more clicks on his Strib click-o-meter?
  14. Yes and from reports it was pretty rough. I read that his FB topped out at 86 and was generally around 83.
  15. I go back to the old axiom: Everything is for sale, it just depends on the price. Don't give anything away, but listen to every GM that calls. Bring up the kids to get the experience they need. Lose contracts like Santiago. Reset the roster to reflect a winning strategy.
