  1. Yeah and it's not like the Twins had 5 good seasons before one disastrous season. Overall the Twins have been the WORST team in baseball the last 6 seasons, and that is not hyperbole, they are coming off their worst season in franchise history. I get the "let's wait and see what happens" "have patience" and "making moves just to make moves is a bad strategy", I get it. But after 6 years of the same excuses year in, year out and month in and month out? Let's maybe stop being so patient and thinking "the young kids will work out", and let's maybe start making a few meaningful moves once in a while? 6 years, worst team in baseball, the amount of "everything is fine, trust the process" that is going only is really surprising, any other real sporting market in America would not be OK with their team being the laughing stock of their sport for the last 6 years, and then continue to do the same old same old.
  2. 5+ years into the "rebuild" and we are happy that the team can win 75 games? Jeez.
  3. Yeah, but the problem is most of the better options are already off the market. This seems to be a yearly thing with the Twins, they manage to either overspend early, or under-spend far too late. Color me shocked if we bring in an above average RP this late in the game...
  4. Could have improved OF pretty easily as well. Twins are by far the worst team in baseball over the last 5-6 years, sorry if I'm not really up for the "well shucks a lot of things went wrong last year" excuses. Fool me once Fool me 26 times etc
  5. True, but they could at least have improved themselves for the future by trading Dozier for a package of Alvarez+JDL+AAAA type instead of insisting on Alvarez+JDL+Calhoun (or very close to Calhoun) type. Again my issue is they haven't improved the current team, and much more importantly the future team this off-season. I get the stance of "let's see what happens the rest of the season" but any sort of "positive" spin on this off-season is a joke! At best it's been an "incomplete" grade more realistically it's a D or F thus far.
  6. Counterpoint: Complacency certainly seems like an issue "this time around" The Twins haven't improved the 2017, or more importantly the 2018,2019 or 2020 team in any meaningful way whatsoever this off-season. This would be one thing if they were already a realistic 80+ win team, but this is a whole nother thing when you are talking about the worst team by far in the MLB last year, to do absolutely nothing besides a couple minor league FA signed and a 0.5-1.0 WAR upgrade at Catcher is dumbfounding. Yeah, losing only 90-95 games this year would be an improvement, but is it worth wasting another year of Dozier and other assets that you could have traded at some point earlier?
  7. I'd handicap the twins at 68.5 wins this year, and I would be hard pressed not to bet the under. This pitching staff is an embarrassment. The defense isn't much better.
  8. Who would win a fight, 50 Brian Doziers or 5 velociraptors?
  9. Yeah Walbeck played 11 years in the majors and was pretty much consistent year in and year out. It wasn't like he was a good player and then fell off a cliff when he joined the Twins: White, Bautista, Boone etc He was what he was, and I personally wouldn't consider him for a list like this.
  10. Yeah I don't get why Walbeck is on this list. He basically is a backup or 50/50 catcher who was very good defensively. Walbeck doesn't seem to fit in this series at all tbh.
  11. It's a good thing we have a good:Starting pitchi.... Bullpe..... Outfie.... Um DH depth? Also this isn't like plugging a 80 power guy like Sano into 3rd where he is prob below average, this is plugging a guy who could be a league average hitter or so (not a knock) into the most important position in baseball, on a team with a suspect infield already and a pitching staff that strikes out the least people in the whole league.
  12. Beyond my reports about the trade offer, I think it's a stretch for people to suggest the dodgers made the same Offer for Dozier as they did with Forsythe. Dozier by far is the better player now, has a better upside and a better floor as well. Im not going to pat the FO on the back for this off season which has yielded Castro on a 3 year deal (too long) and zilch else.
  13. Polanco at SS with a pitching staff that couldn't strike out a AAAA hitter an inning is a complete disaster waiting to happen IMO.
  14. Also when it comes to Gibson it's probably just time to accept the facts: He is a #5 type moving forward. Counting on him for anything more than 4.50 type ERA is wishful thinking.
  15. Gibson was one of the worst pitchers in baseball last year, he doesn't throw very hard and doesn't strike people out. He doesn't have any real trade value.
  16. Yeah that's the whole thing, Alvarez is still a real long ways from being a cant miss prospect. Just like Kohl Stewart was when we drafted him for instance...
  17. That is still the case, some of the other people around here just like to completely ignore this news that I brought them
  18. More of a "gut" feel for me, they invested heavily in the WWE network model and it now appears to be starting to pay off for them IMO, also the product has gotten very very good and I think you are going to see a bit of a resurgence in the "fandom" as well. I think it's a solid buy low candidate with fairly limited risk.
  19. Yeah the conservative/smart move would be to probably sell bitcoin at this stage, at least some, but I'm gonna let it ride I think. I'm also a fan of that fact you can now use bitcoin in more and more places anyways.
  20. Brand split has been very good for the company, WWE network has been doing very well IMO and they are KILLING it on YouTube, which will only continue to grow the brand.
  21. Id eccomend buying WWE by EOY, I'm predicting they hit $28-$35 sometime in 2017 Also bitcoin over $950! Nice little 200% return over the past several months.
  22. By far the best thing the Twins did in 2016 to help the future is finally cleaning out the front office. Right behind that is probably Dozier and Kepler
