Front Page: No MLB Network? Then No Game for You!
MMMordabito replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Youtube TV looks like the way to go. Ultramobile. Seems like having your cake and eating it too. (Unless you require 70 inches to have a good time) -

Take your chances with Gardner, Wave four fingers for Didi Rogers is the only lefty that should see the mound in this series, unless one of the games becomes and stays a laugher our way.- 19 replies

Minnesota Pushing for a Pen Advantage
MMMordabito commented on Ted Schwerzler's blog entry in Off The Baggy
This is good take ... The Twins bullpen is now a strength, at least 5 or 6 deep anyway. But .... Lewis Thorpe - Top 30 since the deadline? That must have been a name slip.- 4 comments

You forgot Audra Martin's double entendre tweet. -
I hope we can see more Alcala this week starting with situations unlike his debut and then maybe ending with situations like his debut. They basically called the fire department, turned on the hydrant and said "DRINK". He could easily slide from 10 to 6 in a week, given the right circumstances. That still doesn't put him on the roster. Now, if that baptism by fire has fortified his psyche, he does have an outside chance of getting results from his obvious stuff. Maybe that would make the decision more difficult. It's a good problem to have. It wasn't even necessary to have Stewart and Hildenberger on this list. They should have zero chance, even if there are 8 injuries in front of them. I would bet on and select Jake Reed or Alex Schick before giving either of those two a playoff call.

Right now Morris is #1. Cruz still has a a post-season in hand though. It's going to be a tall order to surpass Morris, but it would be amazing to see him do it.

How about that Trevor Hildenberger? He's really bringing it and earning that 40-man spot.

Too bad I recently adopted a dog. If I was still looking, I'd be looking for a bulldog mix and naming it Dobnak. I understand it was the Royals, but he just keeps coming out and performing. I'd say he's the current favorite for the 2020 5th spot. I also wouldn't be surprised if he earns the 4th spot. Hope he's a Twin for a long time.

It would help if a playoff destined team could come closer to selling out a stadium this close to the end of the season. 14K empty seats doesn't help the energy. It was $1 dog night. Of course, $9-12 beers and $6 average tasting kiddie cones doesn't help. St. Peter has the wrong formula. Even he thinks his prices are ridiculous. Also, the S-show that is the LRT after a game is over doesn't help either. I use it regularly and know what to expect, but I also overheard a couple decent sized groups of people saying stuff like "this was a bad idea" or "we're never doing this again". I see lots of "Out of Service" trains running the tracks and jamming up the flow during this time. You would think the Twins and Metro Transit would be able to come up with a better plan on game days. The lines have been running for years. They should have the data to improve it.

Front Page: The Future Value of Luis Arraez
MMMordabito replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Looks like Jeremy is the only one who let the bong pass at least every other time around In all seriousness, Arraez is a player that appears to have one tool that is off-the-charts good (two if you count plate discipline/ zone control as a separate tool) and then four tools that are currently average at best and probably below average. Those tools can, of course, improve over time (maybe not raw speed) and should be given that opportunity based on the playability of the other-worldly tool(s). If you are rating prospects, it's pretty difficult to move a guy like that way up when he doesn't have prospect shine and as much data/film to work with. I think Thrylos maybe had him ranked the highest, but he tends to be willing to gamble a bit more with ratings against the grain. He nailed this one, but he's missed a few of those too. -
Front Page: The Future Value of Luis Arraez
MMMordabito replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I don't understand why Rocco doesn't have him batting leadoff every game. He takes the best at-bats on the team. He gets on. He takes pitches allowing others to see pitches. Starting every game with a 42% chance of immediately putting the opposing pitcher into the stretch seems like a good idea to me. I'd like to watch that for the next ten years or so. I'm a fan. #29, my ass -
I like the LRLR pattern and OBP, so ... Arraez Cruz Polanco Garver Kepler Sano Cave Gonzalez Rosario I fear that Eddie wouldn't like this

I'll take that card falling to the Twins as well. Giolito is going to be a thorn for many seasons, so a break with so many of our own ailing is fine with me. The only problem is that Giolito is the type of hurler they will see in the playoffs. It will be quite the jump from Detwiler, Covey, Sparkman, et al. to Verlander and Cole.

At least we're learning good things about Randy Dobnak and Brusdar Graterol. If the season ended today (won't need an 'if' for too long), my playoff rotation is Berrios, Odorizzi, Dobnak, Perez. Smeltzer is the long guy. Rogers, Duffey, Romo, May, Littell and Graterol are in the bullpen. That leaves one bullpen spot up for grabs. Will Dyson get healthy? Is Gibby an option?(experiment #1 = fail) Could the Twins be so fortunate as to have a double K-Rod late addition scenario with Alcala joining Graterol? I guess we have two weeks to find out.
