  1. If there is one then I would have to say it's Maeda. I will never forget working at Chase Field when mis-informed Dodger fan bent my ear for upwards of 30 minutes on why Kenta suc--d so bad and was holding them back from much greater things. Yeah right. INMHO the Dodgers dont win because of their culture. Before everyone jumps on their keyboards and recites to me the regular season records and all the division championships in the last 5-7 years, lets look at their history in the playoffs. choke, Choke, and CHOKE even more. Dave Roberts can't manage his way out of a wet paper bag. What they did to Kenta Maeda was so wrong I can't even Believe it. Now that he is here in a great environment just watch what he can accomplish. That trade was the smoothest one ever made by the Falvines. Don't listen to me now, just thank me later.
  2. yeah while it is a great story, the great equalizer is a line up like the Yankees are gonna use. Im not sure there's a pitcher in our organization that wont crumble under that pressure.
  3. i understand why you like him but what do you think the Angels would want? I mean they dont have the luxury over there of just saying oh we are rebuilding. With Joe Madden around and the signing of Rendon, not to mention the fact that Trout has never even been in the playoffs....I doubt we would pay the price it would take to get Bundy. Even if he can sustain this performance. Don't forget that fool who used to manage the Mets is now the Angels pitching coach. He will screw that up royally.
  4. I don't know if this is relevant but it sure was cool to see our fellow Minnesotan Pat Neshek burst onto the scene in (i think it was) 2006.
  5. What's not to like about a 14-8 start? The fact that they are still winning without any eye popping offensive numbers and basically without Donaldson is a credit to Baldelli and his staff. We already knew these guys were good, they are just proving that last year was no fluke.
  6. i cant believe you didn't write the article about shipping Rosario out of town. You better watch out your boss will wanna talk to you on the carpet tomorrow.
  7. I just think the Twins aren't even concerned with any of those guys in the 2020 season. Realistically, barring any injuries(knock on wood), there is no reason to rush any of those guys up to the big leagues. I would argue that the only reason they are in the 60 man pool is to continue their development. Also what is the word on Royce Lewis? Is he a shortstop or a center fielder? He may be the one if any to get the call because of his versatility. I saw him in the Arizona Fall league last year and he looked right at home at third base.
  8. We definitely have a lot of assets and or potential intriguing trade chips. I would just be very careful about making any deals that jeopardize the future over trying to gamble everything on a title this year. In my opinion, I think I'd roll the dice with our current roster and evaluate things in the off season. We will get enough of a sample size to determine where we're at going forward in 2021.
  9. Some things are a direct reference to racial inequity and discrimination. (i.e. the Griffith statue) However, i do not live in Minneapolis anymore but Minneapolis is always with me in my heart. I cant explain my emotions during the George Floyd tragedy and the ongoing civil unrest except to say i wished i could have flown home to help out in any way. At what point do we say no to changing traditionally non offensive mainstays of our team history? How in the hell is the minnie and paul logo offensive to anybody? I miss the pinstripes and i can see them doing away with the TC emblem soon. Leave the Twins tradition alone. If we feel a need to create a new logo that represents our cultural diversity then CREATE ONE. Use it equally with our other ones. Lets please not forget our team's past.
  10. Without reading all the posts, my take on Duffey is that he is a guy that bought into the fact that he is just a guy that isn't going to be successful as a major league starter. Give Wes Johnson credit for evaluating these guys and stressing that they listen to him and get with the program. There are always gonna be successes and failures. see Reed, Parker, etc...and Duffey, May, Littel. I think Wes Johnson does one hell of a good job.
  11. I just think that if it happens, it will feel just like it should. That our Minnesota Twins were the best team in Major League Baseball in 2020. No matter how weird the season will have been nobody will ever be able to say otherwise.
  12. Well thank you for the stats, but here are the facts. Eddie Rosario has played like an All Star since 2017 and especiallyecia Why do we need statistical evidence? What I have seen is Eddie Rosario playing like an All Star since 2017. If you dont like him that is your right of course. You can show us all the stats you want but the facts are he has played like an All Star since 2017 and he got shafted royally in 2018 in my opinion when he and Escobar were basically the only bright spots. Go back and look at the depth chart and tell me who should start in left field. Cave...NOT.. Wade... NOT..I am a Twins FAN. And I Love Eddie Rosario. How can anybody call themselves a fan and not love him. Maybe you could go write for the White Sox? Never mind Im not sure how many of them can read. (Pun)
  13. yeah i know all about him from being in Phoenix and seeing him a lot when he pitched for the Dodgers. He is a real winner and an ultimate professional. You will see him take on a sort of role with the pitchers that Cruz and hopefully Donaldson have as kind of mentor or veteran influence. Another thing to mention is that guy Maeda is sneaky really really good. That was also a great move. I dont know too much about Bailey ...but Hill and Maeda could be real factors before its all said and done.
  14. that is a tough question because all of them are so good. since i cant say 1a, 1b, and 1c, i have to say Marwin, Ehire, then Jake. Key points, Marwin is a better hitter than Adrianza. Marwin and Adrianza are switch hitters, Cave is not. Cave may have the best power but in a playoff game without Buxton the lineup will have Gonzalez in left, Kepler in center, and Rosario in right. In reference to a previous comment about pitchers being included in this article, i am sure there will be an article about bullpen depth and rotation depth. Never have i heard of pitchers being part of bench depth.(unless you are Lorentzen, Ohtani, or Mckay-Rays).
  15. and if we use the old win 2 of every 3 we will have won .....40 after 60. That will win the division.
  16. whatever happens I just love him as a player and a person. Do what you do Eddie Rosario.
  17. well my best friend is a white sox fan and he painstakingly breaks down every game. Lopez, Cease, and Rodon have been a joke. To put your hopes on two aging left handers like Keuchel and Gonzalez is a side bet even in a sprint season. Come on man. Those guys are chumps.
  18. Yeah, in this abbreviated season the Twins are at least a top ten rotation. I will say this, top five is way more likely.
  19. I love Buxton and the fact that he's injury prone is a clear signal to people like Cave and Wade that they better show up to the park ready to play every single day.
  20. I dont know about those guys. For one Moncada just got to their summer camp. Jimenez is bound to have some adjustments to make. If Mazzara were so great why did the Rangers trade him for a bag of chips? Grandal is scary good and we all know what Encarnacion does in big games. What are they doing with McCann? I listened to their podcast the other day and they are having McCann and Mendick take ground balls at third because they dont know whats going on with Moncada. Abreu is more of a dh at this point and E.E has been a defensive liability for years now. Up the middle their defense is the worlds worst. Without expressing my disdain for them in general, their best starting pitcher induces ground balls atat a 50% rate. This in front if the leagues worst defensive infield. The bullpen is prolly their Strength. And that's assuming Cishek has anything left in the tank. Their depth is suspect and their management is never going to be recognized as top tier. Sorry White Sox. I do not see them as a threat at all.
  21. What have we heard about Duran? Is he still slated to start. I haven't really heard what the ultimate plan for him is.
  22. I have lost the will and the motivation to continue this crusade. I reserve the right to be a fan of, and continue to cheer for E.Rosario. I am more interested in what he's gonna do than what the spread sheet says he's done or hasn't done.
  23. I think that it's important to keep in mind that players like Gonzalez, and Rosario, and even to a certain extent Cruz are here on this team in 2020 basically to win NOW. Players are under contract to produce right now and win the World Series. And im talking about Cruz, and Romo, and Clippard, and Pineda etcetera. We all know they are prolly gone when their contracts are up. They are the guys that were signed for the present. guys in A, AA, and AAA, ARE FOR 2-3-4 years away. Why does everybody want to debate the talents of Kiriloff/Rosario when they will never prolly even compete for the same job at the same time?. The teams you saw in the scrimmage is the team we have. There is no competition for a roster spot in Twins Summer Camp. This team is set barring any injuries. believe that.
