  1. Prospect are just that...prospects. But can't help but be excited about a possible 2022 rotation featuring Berrios, Graterol, Belazovic, Dhuran. Talk about some young guns.
  2. As a diehard Twins fan, I love hearing the names of the young guys coming up. However, you develop players to help your team win. I think there is enough depth here that one or two of the OF prospects should be dealt for pitching. Trading them is still a way to use them to win games.
  3. Twins Magic Number: 17. As in, 17 days til pitchers and catchers report!
  4. I love prospects as much as the next guy. And I FULLY believe in building with your own draft picks, esp in a mid-market like Minnesota. However, Romero provides a cautionary tale about them and gives a perfect example why the FO should be willing to deal from depth (prospects, esp OF organizational depth) to get that SP that makes them a legit WS threat. I'm sorry....with all due respect to the guys competing for spots, with the current rotation and SP options this team is not a serious threat to the Yankees.
  5. I'd guess the speculation that he's waiting for a ML deal are accurate. Would be smart for him. But if he can't get one, you know what would really be smart?? Come work with Wes Johnson and have the Twins lineup to support you if you can get back.
  6. You'd hope that anyone with his combination of size and athleticism would be able to make the transition to 1B. We have to be a little patient though...Mauer was as good of an athlete or even better and it took him some time. By all indications, Sano's work ethic has improved and that'll key to the move.
  7. Always a soft spot for the guys whose names were on the back my boys' "player t-shirts" when they were growing up. Great player, better guy. Looking forward to listening to him in the booth for years to come.
  8. Is LaMonte Wade completely out of this discussion?
  9. With the organizational depth in OF, cant help but come back to Larnach and what kind of SP a package around him would bring.
  10. After watching recent editions of Twins pens, I may have teared up a little realizing how good this one could be.
  11. I've got two thoughts on this. First, this 52-year old die-hard Twins fan wishes you all would stop referring to 34-year olds as "old guys"!!...lol. Second, there are 24 days until pitchers and catchers report!!
  12. Was good to see the improvement last year from Littell. Don't know how high of leverage situations I'd trust him in right now. Fortunately, they have plenty of guys for those.
  13. CAN they wait? I think they can. SHOULD they wait? I don't think they should. FO would already be banking that at least one of the in-house candidates step up. But you are one DL stint for a starter away from big trouble. After mid-May, a DL stint for any of Berrios/Odorizzi/Pineda (or Bailey) would mean you are now banking on TWO of those in-house guys (Dobnak, Thorpe, Smeltzer) filling rotation spots. That makes me nervous.
  14. ...and having Marwin to give one of those guys a day off almost every day is almost an embarrassment of riches
  15. "Deal from depth". The list of OF on 40 man doesnt even take into account guys like Urbina, Wallner, Emmanuel Rodriguez. etc, who will be "next wave" behind the current "next wave" of guys like Kirilloff, Larnach.... NOT dealing from that depth would just be irresponsible.
  16. Anyone know Donaldson's career numbers at Target Field? We all know he's been an absolute monster there. Wonder what those would mean over 81 games in 2020.
  17. Let's hope the Twins at least come close to last year's success if not surpass it. We still only have Berrios and Pineda under contract for 2021 for the rotation. Assuming at least as much success in 2020 as in 2019, I can't help but wonder if this signing might help the Twins convince FA SP to come here next offseason.
  18. Rumors were it was going to take 4yr/$110M. Does that mean we got a "steal" at 4/$92M?!...lol
  19. 11. We've spent two months trying to answer questions for FO. Two months we'll know what this team will look like. 12. Spring Training means Opening Day is closing in which means winter ends! 13. Green grass at Target Field
