  1. Great job Tom. I think you're on to something there with the new content and leverage index. Appreciate all the hard work and time you bestow upon TD.
  2. I'd have to concur with Nash on this one. Cleveland is playing tough right now, but, the only realistic way they take the Central is sweeping the Twins head to head (and even then it is not guaranteed at this point). 2 of 3 games only nets you one game, and 3 of 4 only nets you two games. A sweep is the only meaningful way that the second place team gains ground. Otherwise any games played head to head are a wash, and at this time a year, a second place team cannot afford that.
  3. A lot of comments on here scream of angst, handwringing and soul crushing anguish. I get it, I was upset also. I don't like to see the boys loose, especially against the *ankees. But... my son and I were talking about the 1st game of the series last night on the way home from his workout with a pitching coach and he looks at me and says, "Hey Dad, you were pretty worked up about some of the plays. It's ok... it's just baseball. These things happen." I smiled, laughed, and told him that he was right of course, but the he was never allowed to say anything positive, or complimentary... ever, about the *ankees in public again or, no matter how good at baseball he is, I will sell him to the highest bidder (just kidding, my wife would kill me and I'm actually a little bid afraid of her). But seriously, I had to laugh and admit he as right. Kid has a good head on his shoulders.
  4. You are correct, that was bad luck. However, players are taught to freeze on hard liners though the infield for just that reason. My son’s high school coach looses his mind when they make mental errors like those (and in case anyone might question, he played professionally has won multiple State Titles and was the National HS Coach of the Year in 2018).
  5. Had you just ponied up in the first place and spent the dollars, we could have gotten a good radar and difference maker instead of settling for a rardar and a differene maker. Sigh.... this is why we cant have nice things.
  6. I think we also have to look at (SF in particular) many of the teams in question depth of talent ( or lack there of) in their farm systems. SF desperately needs player depth. This may very well be a case where they take quantity or top tier quality. Hard to say for sure, but I feel that like many of us have said already, the next two weeks will be telling.
  7. I believe that was his Junior year if I remember correctly. I thought he switched to SS his Senior year.
  8. It'll be fine. The Twins will have it all sorted out and they'll make any moves they need to when they need to.
  9. So you’re saying... Go ugly early, because if you go ugly late, all the good ugly ones are gone??
  10. Now you know full well it isn’t Pohlad’s fault... I blame the folks who don’t like bacon or puppies. Curse them all!
  11. Ok, that really clears up a lot of things for me... waaaay confused I actually was citing Chief on that response, but my apologies for not seeing yours and not including you in the citation. I shall now go and do penance by forcing myself to sing "Go Cubs Go" until my wife tells me to zip it and mutters to herself that she actually has three children and not two.
  12. Don’t bail. I, like many others here, value your opinions and views. While I may not always agree with you, I do think you bring good insight to the discussions. It’s baseball, nothing’s ever supposed to come easy .
  13. I’m kind of at a loss for words here... this isn’t the NFL (thank god for that), you know full well that it’s takes 3-5 years to truly judge a draft class. Just because the team isn’t drafting off of the list of players you think they need to be taking, does not mean they don’t know what they are doing. And calling folks uniformed for disagreeing with you is rather petty.
  14. It’s baseball. These things just happen. Plus I’m pretty sure that most of these DL stints are for precautionary reasons; it’s simply better to err on the side of caution and rest the player than push through and risk a more serious problem.
  15. This is a real nice write up by Mr. Gleeman if anyone hasn’t checked it out yet... https://t.co/WWuOZ7b4l8
  16. Great write up Andrew. It's always fun hearing about these guys and everything they go through. They truly deserve more credit and appreciation than they often get.
