  1. Twins have been dangerously close to getting no-hit already, wouldn't be shocked if it happens soon.
  2. Gordon making the plays he needs to out there, dude seems to be a pretty solid defender in the OF.
  3. Sure hope so. Because losing the next two will drop the Twins to 3-7 and be under some serious pressure to win series in KC and against Chicago. We saw last year that falling behind in April can shut the door on hope very quickly. Shouldn't we have been concerned as soon as they traded Garver? Jeffers hit .190 last year, ran into a couple for a few HRs, but there was never anything to indicate he was going to be even a .240 hitter in the majors. How crazy is it that we'd be happy if our starting catchers both hit .220? Awful. Sure would. We're still just 10 games in but Correa needs to play like an All-Star asap if this team wants to content.
  4. Twins going to get shut out by a very wild and very hittable Tanner Houck today. Larnach, Kepler, Jeffers.....you just can't have 1/3 of your lineup playing at a minor league level against major league competition.
  5. Jeffers doing the worst possible thing there, good grief.
  6. Pitchers are throwing 100+ MPH. They've got sharper curveballs, heavier sinkers, all of that kind of thing is putting much more stress on arms. Batters are hitting 50+ HRs, running faster, jumping higher, swinging harder. Overall the game is being played at maximum speeds that are testing the limits of the human body. I think also the game has become more and more filled with "specialists" that are really, really good at one thing but aren't as well rounded. Just a guess, I'm sure there are many reasons.
  7. Correa should start doing a little something for this team at some point.
  8. Thanks for the updates all - here's the Tweet those above me are referencing:
  9. I also love (OK I don't) all the tweets and strib comments saying "HA! TOLD YOU SO! MADE OF GLASS!" Why would some no-talent fatso sitting on his couch in White Bear Lake gleefully cackle and rub their hands together when hearing about Buxton's injury? Does it make them feel superior to the front office or something? Or there a psychology behind it - for example, they are so distraught and disappointed, that they are overcompensating by showcasing bravado?
  10. Tough even for guys who are used to it. Kike Hernandez misplayed that Larnach fly ball out in center field where that little corner juts out. Not an easy place to play outfield.
  11. Wasn't sure if there was a thread dedicated to this yet. After the game the most recent update came from Darren Wolfson, and another from Dan Hayes:
  12. Larnach should be on 3rd base if not have scored an inside the parker there.
  13. Sanchez and Larnach coming up - I don't see how the Twins score here. The gaps in this lineup are massive. The inability to make contact is just such a detriment to this squad. It's Buxton (out), Correa, Polanco and Arraez. That's it. Nobody else on this team is remotely reliable.
  14. 2nd and 3rd nobody out. 2021 Twins don't score here. Let's get a couple and put last year to bed here guys.
  15. A win today despite whatever happened to Bux would go a long way towards boosting morale. How about a big hit from Correa "get on my back, boys"! Ryan looking stellar.
  16. I'd love to see them do something crazy like call up Lewis or Miranda instead. I know they won't, but it would be nice to usher in the next generation of special talent while we wait for Bux.
  17. Some experts on Twitter are saying it looked like Buxton tore his ACL.
  18. Arraez is on FIRE. Attaboy Gordon, nice 2-out hitting. Liking the offense today.
  19. Saw on my phone: "Luis Arraez singles, Gordon scores" - and I thought it was weird that Gordon would be batting so early in the lineup....turned on the game and OHMYGOD. So what was it? My guess is a hamstring. I think he tweaked it juuusssst before his slide.
