  1. The mound should be moved back a couple of feet. It's unfair to expect anyone to hit a 100MPH fastball, and as more pitchers start hitting 100, we're going to see more and more strikeouts. Move the mound back, implement a pitch clock and put in robot umpires. Make life harder on the pitchers, nobody wants to see a 1-0 pitcher's duel, even if they pretend they do.
  2. Good win for the Twins. Bundy is doing everything we'd hoped and more, though I'm not sure we can count on him to keep producing like this. Will be interesting to see Paddack in KC. Sanchez, Kepler, Larnach and Sano were 0-16 today. This team won't be able to stay competitive if the 5-9 spots continue to perform so horribly. Again, good victory but at some point the Twins are going to need at least 2-3 more guys to start hitting like major leaguers for this team to have any shot to content for the playoffs.
  3. I know it's unlikely the Twins will blow it here, but with that leadoff single I'm turning it off!
  4. Sanchez, Larnach, Sano and Kepler a combined 0-16 today. Just a normal day at the office for the bottom half of the lineup.
  5. No way. Jax should only be in when the Twins are losing 15-2 in the 9th inning of a ballgame IMO.
  6. Things unraveling quickly here. Devers is safe, too bad Urshela couldn't gather himself there. What can go wrong will go wrong.
  7. Kepler's been called out at least twice this series on strikes that are off the plate.
  8. Good lord these GIDPs are awful this series. Hats off to the Sox for their infield defense, they're nailing it and their pitchers are getting ground balls.
  9. Thanks for the intro. Looks like a dream matchup on paper. Twins facing a soft-tossing old washed up lefty who they know very, very well....unfortunately games aren't played on paper and my guess is the Twins are gonna have to scratch and claw to manage a base knock against him. I'll miss the first pitch as I'm off to the outdoor aquatic center to swim a few laps under the palm trees, get some exercise in while enjoying our temps in the mid 70s today. How's the weather up north der eh?
  10. Agree to disagree. IMO it was a misplay, no worse than any fielding error made on any given day by any given player. There were 20 errors in MLB yesterday, Sano's wasn't the only one and it was nothing special. It wasn't worse than this, this, or this. I think Sano's fielding has been pretty solid so far this year, frankly. He's always an easy target, and when things aren't going well for this team he's always the first guy Twins fans want to tar and feather.
  11. It was a misplay, but honestly it wasn't as bad as some people are making it sound. It looks like Sano thought the ball was hit much harder than it was. He was ready for it, but he was early. If he would have caught the ball it would have been a fine defensive play. It was definitely an error, but it wasn't the worst play in the world. If the Twins were winning and Sano was hitting, we wouldn't even be talking about it.
  12. Rocco's known as a "player's manager" and I think most players really love playing for him. He takes it easy on his guys, only praises them in public, is never critical and isn't shy about handing guys the day off. We'd all prefer a chill, relaxed boss over a hard-ass grump with an unpredictable temper. Unfortunately this is a team that has a bunch of underperforming players who are sleepwalking their way through their second straight season. Clint Hurdle or Buck Showalter or Lloyd McClendon would be ripping these guys a new one. Question is....would an angry manager really help this team? Would a press conference with a guy pounding on the podium, calling out Sano, Correa, Kepler and Jeffers be helpful? As upset fans we might like to see it because we feel the team deserves a little castigation, but I have no idea if that would motivate the players. Either way, Rocco's definitely going to be in charge this year and probably for the foreseeable future. This team is going to have to find their own motivations to win, because it's not going to come from Baldelli.
  13. Garlick has really just been thrown right into the fire, hasn't he? His only 3 ABs so far this season have all been pretty big.
  14. Gonna get 1-hit for the second time this season today. I honestly don't see how they're going to compete without Buxton in the lineup. And just wait until Archer, Bundy, & company come back to earth. Yikes.
  15. Only a matter of time before Devers, Martinez, Boegarts or Verdugo run into one here.
  16. That juiced ball in 2019 has caused a huge long-term problem for this Twins franchise.
