  1. Based only on the headline, that seems like a strange reason to make a move.
  2. It's kind of this FOs MO to make these sorts of bets, so I agree entirely. It's hard to argue with the results of that approach in the 2nd half of last season. I only hope that playing with fire twice doesn't end up burning them.
  3. Rings matter in Hall conversation, perhaps more than they should in a sport where one player has about as minimal impact as they do in baseball. That has to be looked at differently with catchers though. Their impact on the game is greater than any other single player. I think that has value. Quite a bit even. That's where Molina and Posey get a lot of boost, and I think rightfully so. However, the statistical body of work must be recognized as well. It's hard to argue with what Joe was able to accomplish as a catcher statically. He just didn't have the pieces around him to win titles as Molina and Posey did.
  4. 1-2-3-4-6... ... already used 1-2-3-4-5
  5. In my view, that's part of the conversation. If Gordon earns a spot over either of those two, they didn't earn it. Gordon did. The same is true in reverse.
  6. I think both of these guys are great bench players. I wouldn't be opposed to Gordon starting, but he's got to earn that. And I think they can probably do better, but if he earned it I can't argue with that.
  7. I'm just going to sit here and laugh at this for a while...

  8. Good call! However the one by me closed a few months ago!
  9. Probably easier to find a Golden Corral. Not sure that Old Country Buffet still exists.
  10. You've missed out if you enjoy endless supplies of fried chicken and chocolate pudding! Among other things!
  11. Great, now I want endless supplies of fried chicken and chocolate pudding! (Searches for car keys...)
  12. On paper this might be the case. The key will be staying healthy though. If they keep up the injury pace that they've had the last two seasons, it's awfully hard to have consistency both individually and as a team.
  13. Is adding a satire disclaimer at the head of a satirical article like a double negative thus making the article serious?
  14. I think starving oneself is the preferred option here. On multiple levels.
  15. I wish I would have read this comment about 13 years ago. Potentially life altering advice right here!
  16. I'm one that thinks bringing in another bullpen arm, particularly a veteran one, is a good idea. I'm not convinced it'll happen, but I'd like to see it happen. I'm fine with allowing room for some young arms to come up and contribute, but make them earn it and force the team to make a decision.
  17. I like the idea of letting him hit for average and run like crazy on the bases and play him at 2B. Dealing Polanco makes quite a bit of sense to me, but I want to see that they've got someone waiting in the wings. It would be so much fun watching Buxton and Martin running at will on opposing pitchers.
  18. This is a good idea. As @chpettit19mentioned, now I can save my breath too and just send people here!
  19. Yeah, if he's got a kid on the way, hopscotching around a lot probably isn't the most ideal thing to do for any party involved.
