  1. This is interesting. Glad to see that my eyes aren't deceiving me though. It certainly feels like they should be scoring more runs.
  2. While not positive, I'm pretty sure that the Covid rules have gone away. They are allowing people on the field again, including kids for pregame festivities. As others have mentioned, getting a first game certificate is a good idea. Might even increase your odds of getting autographs. Enjoy the game!
  3. I'm not really either, but Urshela is up for arbitration next season and is a FA the year after. There's some time to work something else out in that timeframe. Arraez is an option though. Even if they trade Miranda, there's some depth there.
  4. He doesn't have a lot of experience at 1B, so I understand to a degree there. He's played plenty of 3B. He's still young, he still can improve at both. Kirilloff is a much better 1B.
  5. For the right deal, I wouldn't hesitate to include him. Urshela will be around for two more years or you can play Lewis there should Correa stay, or Arraez. There are options for fill a 3B depth hole on the roster.
  6. I put money on "ironing his shirt while wearing it" over the weekend. I tried to get a jump on the handicappers.
  7. Corner types are what this organization has an abundance of. If you don't like Miranda or Arraez at 1B, the heir apparent is tearing up AAA on the other side of the river. Mancini makes little sense and a poor use of assets. Castillo has my interest piqued and would pursue heavily. As does Contreras, but I don't see that happening.
  8. Indeed. It's natural to have disagreements and sports debate is about as wide ranging and varied as politics. But like politics, it would be helpful if people could disagree and debate in a civil and respectful manner. That's not only more constructive, but far more entertaining and enjoyable as well.
  9. I was kinda thinking the same thing. I basically figured that we know he's an on base machine, he's doing it at a higher level so far this season. Probably not flying under the radar so much.
  10. My point was that you were stating his current BA and HR totals. If you were expecting more, the league as a whole is down, so when comparing that against the rest of the league, it's not as bad as it seems. Not sure what relevance Sano has to the conversation.
  11. Batting averages and slugging are down across baseball. That doesn't invalidate your point, but does provide context.
  12. I didn't see the game, but it's good to read that Ryan looked pretty good. The stamina will come back. Not too much of a surprise that he got touched up as his velo dipped.
  13. The streakiness of the bats series to series is kinda odd. It's like a switch is flipped as they go into a new series. Apparently they need to face better pitching in order to hit!
  14. I went 85-89, leaning towards the upper 80's. Probably more likely to top 90 than to dip below 80, in my opinion. Still plenty good to win the division, but I'm still not convinced that they do any real damage in the playoffs with this pitching staff.
  15. Nice bounce back after yesterday's collapse. Good to see the bats putting together big innings as well as putting the ball over the fence. And another good outing from Smeltzer. I don't know how he do, but I'm glad he do and I enjoy watching him do. No idea how long it lasts, but I'll gladly take it while Iit does.
  16. In fact, most people would probably benefit if they weren't!
  17. I'm 4-1 on the season. I guess that I'll just have to keep going to games. Shucks.
  18. From my angle, I'm shocked that went out too. That ball just kept carrying. Looked like a lazy-ish fly ball off the bat.
  19. Nah, just cloudy. There was some spotty stuff that moved through earlier, but should be fine for the game. Rain overnight in the forecast though. It is pretty nice out, despite being overcast.
  20. Another beautiful night for a ballgame. Empty seats seem aplenty...again. Hopefully the game is as nice as the weather is!
  21. Lewis can't get a break. I feel pretty bad for the guy. I hope he has a full and speedy recovery!
  22. That dude can't catch a break. I hope he has a speedy, and full recovery.
