  1. Wtf is going on. It's little league s*** out there. Wow.....
  2. How many appearances does Gordon need to make before he's counted as a RP?
  3. Maybin is pissed about the lack of situational awareness by some of these Yankee hitters. Pretty entertaining if anybody wants to catch their broadcast
  4. At what point do opposing teams realize Celestino almost needs the ball on the outer half to make solid contact?
  5. He's done that every AB. I kinda felt bad for the guy after that 4th K because he looked so overmatched but that s*** his last AB was inexcusable. If I'm a Yankee fan I'm punching a wall.
  6. Dude is 0-4 with 4 Ks and then dogs it to first with the bases loaded and nobody out. Unbelievable.
  7. Wtf is Guzman doing. Wtf is going on with this game? It's just brutal on both sides...
  8. 100% I just assume it's second nature to hit the bag in stride by the time you're in the big leagues
  9. Sliding slows you down though. That's my point, unless you're avoiding a tag, don't slide. There's a reason sprinters don't dive at the finish line.
  10. Don't disagree about CC or Arraez needing to lead the way, but this Yankee lineup is putrid. They only score via the HR and they literally have 2 guys capable of hitting one. Of course, each of them has hit one this game. If Jax just doesn't give up that 2 run homer there's little chance the Yankees muster 2 runs. Their 4-8 hitters are a combined 1-19...
  11. Cabrera is 0 for his last 23 according to the Yankees' broadcast, and he's hitting leadoff. Is TLR managing the Yankees in disguise?
  12. Feels weird watching NY be the team that can't get out of its own way during a matchup. I could get used to it though...
  13. I was just thinking, I can't remember the last time I looked at a Yankee lineup and didn't know at least 6 or 7 of the position players.
  14. SWR has been in the Twins system for over a year now. Joe Ryan threw 9 innings at AAA for them. It's not even close to the same thing. IIRC TB was fighting to stay atop their division, and they also had one of the best pitching staffs in the league. I doubt the Rays weren't aware he could get big league hitters out, more likely, a lack of need, a division race, and service time factored heavily into the decision.
  15. Davis? Idk if he has options I'm too lazy to look it up, but that'd keep them at 14 pitchers. I'd imagine Sanchez has some value as a long relief/piggyback with the double header today. I certainly would've loved to see Pagan go.
  16. Ryan isn't a product of the Twins development system. He was MLB ready when they acquired him.
  17. On a personal level, yeah, making the big leagues is a massive success. From a team standpoint, that's not remotely the case. Think about how low we're setting the bar when Dobnak or Thielbar are some of the first names mentioned as success stories. The "pipeline," is a meme at this point. Every organization has a Festa or Nowlin; guys in low minors who maybe if things break right find themselves in a major league rotation. That can't be where the goalposts are shifting.
  18. It'll be Jewell. It should be Pagan, but it'll be Jewell.
  19. We are, Mahle was just the most recent example. I get appeal of the lower price threshold, but I don't see it as much of a defense for the moves not working out, particularly when the expectations set in place by the team, not just the fans, aren't reflective of that price.
  20. It's a high BABIP in comparison to his half season in Baltimore as a reliever, it's not a crazy departure from his time as a starter, and I think that's the concern. Is his half season in Baltimore indicative of who he is, or are we seeing a guy drifting back down to Earth? You're right, the number of runners allowed has been atrocious, and while we can take some solace in his zero percentage, that''ll start to reflect his poor WHIP given enough time.
  21. Yeah, no doubt the price is reflective, but I think that's a hollow defense, particularly when you're relying on a pitcher the way the Twins planned to with Mahle.
