  1. Gave up on the game, got on the subway to Tsim Sha Tsui. And wow, Kennys....
  2. Welp, Joe doesn't get the guy to 3rd, Sano tries to tie the game instead of driving in a crucial run, and we're making Strahm look like his first name is Cy.
  3. Geez, Strahm. Take your time, slow down, don't rush things, yah?
  4. Just an idea here, about the bus trip-- maybe you just, kinda, like, thought you did, man?
  5. In that case, I'd bring up Murph, and let Garver get even more ABs and steady catching work- some of it with pitchers who may be Twins before long themselves.

  7. Whew, busy day today, can only catch up once in a while- but from the Gameday-- jeepers, is there any CO batter who hasn't rocked the ball off of Phil so far? Seems like everything is "sharp line drive," even the outs.
  8. Wow.... Chicken for breakfast! Brandon, I owe you another one. I don't take back all the snarky things I said about you, especially the Wallendas thing-- I like to think they inspired you to a good performance.
  9. Yipe! Had an enormous night, just waking from my Guinness haze-- Am I still dreaming? It's a 1-0 duel in the 9th?

  13. Well, I'm trying to rationalize by thinking that maybe they're playing the service time game with Mr. B. But by God, if you're thinking about getting those young arms in the rotation for future pennant contention, that time is even earlier than today. Berrios has nothing to prove by mowing down AAA cats. If he has to take his lumps and learn how to adjust, how about doing it in a whole year like this one? Don't even try to pretend we have a chance in even this watered-down Central with the pedestrians we have on the current staff. I know the injuries have hit the AA studs hard the past couple of years, and delayed their Mlb debuts, but Geez Louise, get them the hell up here soon, and let them get to learning. Our young hitters are now taking those lumps and learning those lessons, and the pitchers are going to be a year or 2 behind even at this point. We are not going to the Series this year. Wilk and Haley and Pressly and Belisle and Breslow and Kintzler, et.al., are not going to carry us there. If we have to wait til the service time clock is done ticking, so be it. But I can't stand this placeholder crap, as a fan, for yet another year. Get those guys up here ASAP, the ones we could or should be counting on, and let them take their medicine and learn their lessons. And--- while I'm ranting-- clean out that dugout. Molly (IMHO) is not going to take this team to the promised land, either.
  14. Alright! Excellent! We're on our way! What a coup! Now we can keep our delusions about contending this year with a bunch of placeholders on the pitching staff, and don't have to give any of those young arms a chance. Whew!
  15. Argh. I hate to like this, but I think it's true. Let's see the lineup tomorrow. I'll bet he has Suzuki in the 5-hole, too.
  16. Chicken-ery! From the Mlb site:SOUND SMART WITH YOUR FRIENDS Buxton recorded his fifth career three-hit game, and four of those have come against the White Sox. Haw haw haw...!
  17. Death, taxes, and beatin' the hell out of the white sox. Should be regular things. At least one of those things are enjoyable...
  18. Wow, just checked in to find Mr. Adrianza making an impact. If this keeps up, I can't wait to watch the replay on the Sox broadcast later. Is Hawk still doing games? I'm sure the silence would be deafening... You can put that on the board. Yes.
  19. Ahhh, Chicago memories... Sept. 1, 1997. Living in Chi, about 4 blocks from Wrigley. My late pal Moose (the guy who got me started playing rugby) and lovely wife came down from St Paul for the series, the first year of interleague play. A great, great, time-- 2nd photo- Sammy Sosa at bat, Terry Steinbach behind the plate. Sammy hit a tater that day, but Mighty Pat Meares had a 3 run bomb, and the Twinkies took 'em, 7-6. Oh, wait, we're playing that other team....
