  1. None of the above. I read most of the winter, and frankly over the last 2 years how deep our farm system is. Let’s try them out first before paying a premium for a reliever we’ll probably regret trading for in a year.
  2. Not much changes from the original plan. Sano plays 1B primarily, Kirilloff plays LF primarily, and Arraez fills in elsewhere around the field. When it’s all said and done, all 3 will look like they played almost every day.
  3. Nice to see the bats waking up. We need a red hot month of play in May. Every week needs to be above .500. Preferably a few games above .500. There’s certainly an opportunity for one of Thorpe or Smeltzer seizing the 5th spot in the rotation. I’d like to see if they can be legitimate starters while they still have 1 option year remaining. If they’re not considered starters, get them prepped as a reliever. We could use help in that area as well.
  4. Are they primed to pitch in the majors right now? We could use a couple of reinforcements in the bullpen.
  5. Clearly there was some miscommunication from Dan Hayes’ Twitter update earlier today. Colome is going to be used to get to low leverage situations from now on.
  6. Yeah, most people get one chance at running the baseball org, and Colorado wouldn’t be my first choice. Pretty telling when ownership steps in and dictates who you’re going to sign in free agency and when you’re going to trade your star player.
  7. Look on the bright side... Colome kept his pitch count low tonight so he’ll be ready to go tomorrow!
  8. Give the White Sox credit... They showed zero interest bringing Colome back after a career year giving up only 3 runs in 22 appearances. That signature cutter pitch doesn’t look fixable at the moment. IMO it’s not crazy to discuss DFA’ing him very soon.
  9. The next 60 days are crucial and leave little room for error. We’ll need to play and execute like a 100+ win team. When 4 or 5 players in the lineup are hopeless at the plate on a daily basis, it’s hard to envision that happening.
  10. What a nightmare month of baseball. We’re going to need a 2015 May performance to balance the scale.

  12. It was nice to see the top of the order come alive today. No lead is safe with this bullpen. You could sense it all afternoon that they were not going to keep a lead.
  13. On April 21, 2016 the Twins were 5-11, and finished with 103 losses. Maybe looking at one data point in the past isn’t beneficial.
  14. 2013: Kohl Stewart 4th overall 2014: Nick Gordon 5th overall 2015: Tyler Jay 6th overall Massive misses for sure, and telling why the old regime is gone. On a positive note, their final draft was Kirilloff at 15 overall.
  15. There’s an old saying in Tennessee... You can’t win the division in April, but you can lose it. We could use a red hot month of May.
  16. Yeah, I’m not up to speed on it either besides my area. When Texas moved to 16+ adult phase, it was a struggle scheduling an appointment in Austin and major cities. I lucked out securing an appointment at Walgreens in a small town 60 miles away. Congrats on getting your appointment scheduled and I’m wishing for little to no side effects for you!
  17. What phase was Minnesota in for the vaccine rollout on April 9? It’s been everyone 16+ years old eligible to get it in Texas since 3/29. It was still pretty difficult for the general public to get it in the early weeks, but I was able to get the J&J on 4/8.
  18. First of all, we shouldn’t care about his past performance. We paid for his current and future performance, right? Relievers are the kings of SSS, and unless there are studies out there saying relievers show their true colors for the season once they hit 20 innings, we should make faster decisions with him and other relievers. There’s no denying he’s contributed heavily to 3 losses so far. Keeping him in the same role is risking losing more games and making the sprint more difficult in September. For now I would demote him to mid leverage opportunities and let someone else try to close out the game. If he continues to struggle in a mid leverage role, a DFA might have to come in play.
  19. I will not win the lottery today. Phew, feels good to make such a bold and courageous statement; similar to Buxton not winning the triple crown.
  20. The A-Rod curse is still alive and thriving for the Twins... 0 wins since the announcement of him buying the Timberwolves.
  21. How many days left until Kirilloff gets that coveted 7th season to start his service time clock? Edit: Should have read further and saw spycake answered this question. Friday the 16th. Let’s go!
  22. Sure, if you want to stretch the term “recently” in the post I replied to over the last 2 years, yep they have prioritized defense. Recently in the last 6 months they’ve added Simmons. The rest have been here.
  23. Our opening day starter at LF is Luis Arraez. Who has 160 MLB innings of experience in the spot. Prioritizing defense might be a little exaggerated.
  24. And Cave won the job over Kirilloff in the platoon because? What sample size is required for Kirilloff to show he’s now MLB ready? 3 weeks in AAA?
  25. Can’t start that service time clock on yet! See you in June, hopefully.
