  2. I was interested in Bellinger for the Twins. He could have been perfect Buxton insurance and start in RF. Elite defense, and if he bounces back to be a league average bat, he’s immensely valuable to a team.
  3. 3 concussions in 1 season is insane. Time to shut the rookie down for the season. He’s probably not a long term player in the NFL.
  4. No doubt that Arraez is one of, if not the most entertaining player on roster. His personality stands out amongst the crowd. You’re right though - it’s trading Arraez at his highest value. In order to retain Arraez, the FO needs to be confident he’s a consistent .315-.330 better. The margin for error is razor thin with him without any power. If he ends up being a .290 hitter, then it’s like we’re clamoring for Jason Tyner to remain a DH on this team.
  5. I was way wrong about Baker. Thought he was the safest pick out of all the QBs in that draft class. He may squeeze a few more years in the league holding a clipboard. No team is going to trust him being a starting option for a long time.
  6. Behold! The first look of Trea Turner in a Phillies jersey.
  7. 10/$326 (just a hair more than Seager) 8/$272 - $34 million AAV 6/$216 - $36 million AAV Hopefully options like this are on the table right now. Let’s get something done.
  8. Revisiting the Verlander trade to Houston… Houston: 21.6 bWAR, 102 starts, 2.26 ERA, 187 ERA+. 2 World Series titles, 5 ALCS appearances. Detroit: Daz Cameron has -0.7 bWAR, 67 OPS+. Jake Rogers has 0.6 WAR, 72 OPS+. Franklin Perez is still in rookie ball with a 9.59 ERA.
  9. There are some other larger markets that could jump in the mix… Toronto, San Diego, Seattle, one of the Chicago teams. I will say, it’s quite telling that San Francisco is radio silent in their efforts to retain him.
  10. Term length hasn’t been too much of an issue for the large market teams. They can write off the loss much easier than mid market teams. If they really want Rodon, they’ll meet the 6 years. Hell, even tack on a 7th year as leverage.
  11. He’s the last remaining front line SP on the free agent market. Let the bidding war begin… I think he gets the 6 years, maybe an opt out after year 3 or 4, at $35+ million AAV.
  12. Whoops. Forgot that Rumor is automatically added to the title.
  13. This isn't going to be popular in Twins Territory but Dan Hayes is reporting that the Twins are shopping Luis Arraez in return for a frontline starter. Is a frontline starter worth losing the reigning AL batting champion?

  15. Him and Scherzer both getting paid $43 million a year. Wow.
  16. Nice consolation prize after losing DeGrom.
  17. We just played the top 4 ranked defenses in football the last 4 weeks. How did that turn out? Mike Zimmer, is that you?
  18. I highly, highly doubt it. Jimmy G is out for the rest of the season.
  19. Enjoy the season, as Mike Tice would say. This is a special team.
  20. We just finished 3-1 against the most difficult stretch on our schedule. 14-3 is not out of the realm of possibilities.
