  1. Yeah, Kwesi got too cute with the trades in his first draft. I was on board with trading down from 12 overall before the draft, but not down to 32 and for the package we ended up receiving from Detroit. He had some learning lessons and hopefully he’ll be better the next draft.
  2. Sounds like this is a positive development for Twins fans to have an actual baseball fan running the show.
  3. Jose Abreu appears to be off the market now, but the main point of the article is still valid. The Twins need a big bopper in the lineup. We didn’t have enough firepower on offense… Not even the first half of the year when we had Correa plus red hot Buxton and Arraez. As things stand on 11/28, we have lost 140 OPS+ Correa and have 90 OPS+ Kyle Farmer as a depth stand in. If that isn’t resolved, the drop from Correa to Farmer will be felt and seen by the fans on a daily basis in the regular season.
  4. I know there is a lot to improve on, but we are 9-2 and will likely clinch the division in 2 weeks. @Squirrel, @ashbury thoughts on the game?
  5. The margin for error is razor thin for Arraez if he doesn’t develop power. The difference is a valuable batting champion if he’s batting .320+. And Jason Tyner if he’s batting below .300. That’s not a guy I want to extend long term.
  6. No Andrew Booth Jr or Akayleb Evans at CB tomorrow. Darrisaw obviously out on the OL. Tomlinson is questionable for the DL.
  7. I also don’t buy into the “limited supply” line on their website. In e-commerce, there are tools you can use to always indicate “Only 5 left!” on products when in fact their inventory is way more than 5 remaining. I sell a software that has that functionality. If indeed they have limited amount of product, what a bungled 2 years in the making brand refresh.
  8. This is a Twins focused website with tons of diehard fans. And the consensus is no one wants to buy it at that price. Isn’t that a problem? Who’s buying them then?
  9. It also depends if the Nick Gordonesque prospect can play a premium position reasonably well.
  10. Mitch Haniger, formerly of the Seattle Mariners, is one of the better OF free agents available this offseason. The 31-year-old possesses a career 123 OPS+ and bats right-handed, traits that are desperately needed in the Twins outfield arrangement. The Twins currently have five corner outfielders, all of which bat left-handed.

  12. The frenzy of signings before the lockout last year was really exciting for baseball fans. I wish they would replicate that excitement each season. Some fans enjoy the long game and the potential of a major signing on a random Tuesday in January. I prefer more structure and would implement a system like this: First wave of free agency lasting 2 weeks starting the day after arbitration tenders need to be submitted. Dead period over the holidays and January. 2nd wave of free agency starts a month before spring training.
  13. If we strike out on the big 4, my next step is exploring the trade market. I will likely try to find the best possible glove first SS. Then spend the budget on the best bats available in the OF/1B/DH. Losing Correa hurts in a multitude of ways. The obvious need of someone who can play SS at a high level, and more importantly, a #2 bat in the lineup. We will need significant upgrades on offense to make up for the loss.
  14. The 1976 Raiders, 1994 San Francisco 49ers and 2020 Tampa Bucs all lost a game by 30+ points and went on to win the super bowl. There’s no sugar coating what happened yesterday. It was an embarrassing game. Frankly, it was the perfect storm for an embarrassing performance: - Darrisaw and Cleveland getting knocked out of the game exposing what we all knew - OL depth is non existent. - Coming off the most emotionally draining game of the year. - Tomlinson still out at DT, and Dantzler/Evans out at CB. We weren’t going to finish the season 16-1. More losses will happen before the end of the season. Doesn’t change the fact that the Vikes have the division locked up and the NFC is wide open for the taking.
  15. Nice of you two to come in here and troll the thread.
  16. Relax. It’s one embarrassing game. See you on Thursday.
  17. No answer for anything. First game this year that I’m switching to Netflix for the 2nd half.
  18. The Vikings looks asleep right now on both sides. Andrew Booth Jr. is so far over his head right now it’s ridiculous
  19. Lots of excellent posts in this thread. I’ve got nothing further to add about Pagan. It’s clear Falvey and Levine love something about him and it doesn’t make any sense to me. If/when we move him off the roster, all I can do is make a note in the cons column in the evaluation of this FO.
