  1. I think you hit the nail on the head here. Much like the pitching staff, the lineup was built with 7-8 average to above average bats that can't carry a team alone. When they're all working together in sync, we have a top 5 offense in the AL like the 2nd half last year. If they aren't in sync, it's tough to break out of the funk. It'll take a team effort to get out of this offensive hole.
  2. RG: "That was clearly a ball. I'm going to argue that." JV: "According to stat track that was a strike... Don't argue it." RG: "Stat what? Don't confuse me with your video analysis. I saw what I saw!" JV: "Sigh... I guess I'll get to manage for a couple of innings."
  3. Post your favorite Gardy quotes... "We'll be back tomorrow night. I can promise you that." "Tough loss." "I've got my cell phone handy in case if that big trade happens." Note: it never happened.
  4. We're seeing that life without Buxton and Sano in the lineup producing isn't going to work long term. The pitching (minus Lynn) has held up their end of the bargain. This team needs both of them back and contributing otherwise they are going no where.
  5. That would be a nice role for him... But was/is he that good to handle a role like that? His performance as a RP before wasn't "fireman" like.
  6. Classic misdirection approach. You're catching on to RB's antics!
  7. Why would the Dodgers trade Grandal? And what am I missing about Littell where he's an attractive trade piece?
  8. I've read and seen enough of Lynn now. Never wanted him in the first place since he was a primarily fastball only pitcher. Batters wait to tee up on a misplaced fastball, and know his off speed pitches won't land for a strike.
  9. I endorse this just so Gonsalves can get his feet wet. Ideally once Erv returns he takes the last rotation spot, Lynn long man and Hughes cut. I can't imagine Gonsalves would do much worse than Lynn.
  10. Fantastic and very informative. Thanks for taking the time to write this Heezy!
  11. By "sell high" I meant the Twins could actually fetch a decent prospect if he keeps it up. Whereas the last 2 years I doubt they were able to generate any interest in Gibson.
  12. Most of the responses here have been positive, and it's deserved for him turning it around. However, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. He's had stretches nearly every season where he looks great, then reverts back to bad Gibby. If he continues at this hot pace, I will be very tempted to sell high. Since, as others mentioned, Erv, May, Lynn, and Gonsalves are in the mix this year at some point this summer.
  13. I know Jim isn't a great baseball mind, but the FO has to convince him that the replacement costs $500k if it's a prospect.
  14. At the very least he's at the middle of the end... But yeah, probably the end of the end for him.
  15. Couldn't agree more. Round Rock Express games (Rangers AAA) are a delight to attend. The longest game I've seen was maybe 3 hours which took extra innings to finish. It's not just the pitchers in MLB that are slowing down pace. Batters contribute to the problem too by constantly stepping out of the box adjusting their gloves, helmet, etc.
  16. Maybe this is the performance the higher ups need to see in order to trust young players. More of this. Less of 30+ year old nobodies.
  17. As someone who's blindly defended Sano over the last 3 years, I'm slowly moving to your side... We're all pretty sharp baseball minds here. I envision Sano being a force at cleanup ~.275, .900 OPS with 35+ HRs. Unfortunately it doesn't appear he's willing to change his batting approach. It's going to be a damn shame if he continues to be a ~.240 batter that strikes out 40% of the time.
  18. Silver linings articles on May 2nd. It's going to be a long summer, isn't it?
  19. Eric Aybar, where are you bro? You want to come back to the team so we don't have to see a 33 year old career minor leaguer? Love, Van
