  1. I would push back if I saw it on threads I read... Unfortunately with the new job and life responsibilities I don't have the time I once did posting on the site!
  2. Through 58 games, Molitor is constantly relying on 3 pitchers to get the team out of jams... Ryan Pressly - 32 appearances and consistently relied on to go 1+ innings Addison Reed - 29 appearances also consistently relied on to go 1+ innings Hildenberger - 28 appearances 1+ innings at a time Continuing to ride 3 arms for 50% of games is unsustainable over the course of a season. This isn't anything new. Molitor does this every single season riding the hot arm(s) until they break down. Instead of wearing them out over a 2 month period then see them struggle until they recover, he should work in other pitchers. Maybe we could get a full season of good Pressly if that were the case.
  3. It also doesn't help when you can look at a lineup on any day and see one or more of Petit, Wilson, Grossman, and LaMarre. These are not players you can count on if you want to be a contending team.
  4. Sano and Buxton have to play better than this. No doubt about it. Perhaps our expectations were set way too high for these two players. They've been touted as saviors for the team since 2013... It seems like every year the legend grows how great they are going to be.
  5. Exactly. Molitor is wearing him out like he does every season with 2-3 pitchers. Not even the immortal Bryan Shaw can handle the pace Pressly is on.
  6. That's digging deep to find a metric Escobar could win at. Any interest in betting that Escobar will beat out Dozier in HRs, OPS, bWAR and fWAR?
  7. Let's forget Dozier has out produced Escobar every single year and focus on the first 60 games this year. Got it. I would confidently bet a lot of money Dozier out produces Escobar this season again.
  8. Agreed. It's also not illegal to trade away minor league talent too and keep Dozier. If we want to be contenders that's what contending teams do.
  9. Could be. He's the equivalent of North Dakota men's hockey. Starts slow every year. By December fans want the coach fired. The next 3 months they're on fire and make the NCAA tournament.
  10. I can't wait to read these "Dozier's best years are behind him" posts when he goes on a binge again later this year...
  11. Flowers or Lucroy makes sense given their expiring contracts. Realmuto is the best move, but I don't see that one working out.
  12. I mean, everyone should struggle with their first taste of division 1 football. Still doesn't mean he should take his ball and go home after 1 intrasquad game. I'm sure there's more to this story. Maybe he was misled how much playing time he was going to receive. Maybe he was that bad. Oh well, don't have to worry about ol' Vic again.
  13. I'd love to see a fast moving C in the system. Hasn't happened since Mauer... Garver took nearly 5 years and he still has a long ways to go defensively. Rortvedt is 2.5 years in and in low A...
  14. So this guy is turning 21 soon. How long do you let the experiment at C last? 26 year old 1B or corner OFs aren't that valuable.
  15. What does BPA even mean for everyone? BPA on who's big board? Technically anyone is a BPA because they're still available at 20.
  16. Probably a smart call if he can't beat out 3 redshirt freshman on a bottom feeding D1 team.
  17. We started seeing that last year with Darvish structuring his contract as more front-loaded. I'd love to see that trend continue. As would the players I imagine. That way they can start investing the money early and let it grow.
  18. We should get a better sense this year what profile of player the new regime prefers... The old regime loved toolsy HS OFs and college SP around this draft slot.
  19. What was your favorite Vic Viramontes moment? Mine was learning he was a JUCO QB transfer who packed up and left the program.
  20. It was pretty easy to see last offseason that a RH OF was a need... Instead they went with LaMarre who's had little to no success in the MLB. Can't say I'm shocked this isn't working out for the team.
  21. Do what's right for you, Joe. Don't worry about us fans. I'll remember him as one of my favorite Twins players. He was drafted and made his MLB debut during my "sports sports sports, my whole life is just sports" phase.
  22. Good stuff. Though if this becomes a regular feature, R.I.P. Adopt a Prospect section...
  23. Maybe these guys can be the stars we're all clamoring for in Minnesota... The other duo "stars" aren't looking too hot right now.
  24. I get the sense that Molitor and co. are getting fed up with Buxton's inability to hit the baseball.
