  1. I guess you would rather have seen Lamonte Wade than Kepler. Sometimes the decisions you have to make aren't good ones.
  2. I did not know about the black bar, and I will avail myself of its benefits. I thank you kindly and have a happy postseason.
  3. I'm confused by the construction of these threads. This was posted 7 months ago and because one person responded it comes up as something to look at. Just bringing it up, not mad about it.
  4. I would like to see a Twins (or Rays) vs. Brewers World Series ... Just to F with the powers that be and the expectations of the hordes and masses. After all the PTB created a 10-team playoff fiasco, so let's have it.
  5. I wonder if the Big Stage (prime time, NYC, do-or-die) will affect the nerves of our younger players.
  6. I disagree completely. How many popups are hit directly over the pitcher's mound in a season? Less than 10? 5? The pitcher's job is to get off the mound in a hurry, let the fielder's, whose job is fielding, field the ball.
  7. Here is a glass half-full thought. In the last 8 games Arraez went 6-35 (.171) and saw his BA drop from .349 to .334 ... so ... a little knick on the ankle, an extra day off ... (half-full glass talking) and he comes back swinging for singles on Friday or so.
  8. But on the flip side of the coin isn't it interesting that in the AFL players get managed and coached by men who have an objective view. Maybe the manager sees that Lewis is inferior at short to the other guy, but within the Twins system the blinders are on: Lewis, #1 overall pick, will play short! Also, all the players on the roster generally play about the same amount, if I'm not mistaken.
  9. About a hundred comments have already been made on this topic on yesterday's game recap thread. I think the topic is exhausted. Play on!
  10. I respectfully disagree. He stood in the box, ran three-quarters speed to first, and didn't kick it into high gear until after he rounded first.
  11. But this kind of thing happens habitually. I don't think he learns from his mistakes. Still with the one-handed fancy grabs in the outfield too.
  12. That's even worse: that he didn't see the center fielder coming over. That's what a center fielder is supposed to do, especially with the overhang! The question is would Rosario have hustled to back up teammate like that?
  13. Yes, Arraez had a total of TWO OUTFIELD STARTS throughout his minor league career. I think he has acquitted himself very well, given that.
  14. I also hope Baldelli chewed out Rosario sternly in his office after the cameras and reporters left the locker room. I'm getting tired of the innocuous and useless comments to the media. Case in point. “I don’t mind that play. Would I call it probably the right play? Maybe not. But he was making something happen ... It was a great play by their center fielder to get over there and to make a pretty good throw to third base ..." No, Rosario was not making something happen, he was making something NOT happen.
  15. I'm very surprised to learn that the mlb writer holds Arraez in such low esteem. I think he's much better than ranking 29th rookie with the best future. I guess singles hitting, high OBP players are just out of fashion. On the other hand, I do secretly worry about his legs (knee?). He's simply not fast, and maybe his legs aren't up to par. Or maybe he's just quirky and it doesn't mean anything.
  16. Schoop doesn't rhyme with poop ... Schoop rhymes with nope (as in next year he won't be a Twin but this year he'll continue to contribute in spot situations).
  17. I have a theory: Buxton goes all out (and then some) on defense because he hasn't established himself at the plate. If he ever does become a superstar hitter (if) he would calm down on the wall-running-into. (No science was harmed in support of this theory.)
