  1. Can't throw strikes out of the stretch. And call to bullpen just now....
  2. http://www.radioarrebato.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Quadrophenia.jpg
  3. Twins should be beating the crap outta Gee. There, see what happens when you listen to me??? DOZIER HOMER ! http://cdn.funcheap.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/fireworks21.jpg
  4. Escobar was on the DL because of a left groin strain in early-mid May. Then a left hamstring injury in early July. In that time, there was Nunez getting those consistent at bats and for almost 4 full months was hitting over .300. No consistent AB's for Escobar. And now there's Polanco, whom the Twins really need to see if he is a shortstop of the future. Because it seems that the other infield spots are taken.
  5. I signed up for Facebook a few years ago. Got contacted by a bunch of relatives that I never wanted to hear from again. You know the type: where's thong on head, backwards.
  6. For the most part, it's been "ok". Then all of a sudden, everyone starts booting the ball. Even a ball that's already in their gloves!
  7. and Hawkins and Perkins. Can't think of any others OTTOMH. I'm not sure [and May's statements alluded to it] that May didn't have this problem as a starter. That with enough rest, stretching, etc. between starts kept it in check. Sometimes the switch works, sometimes it doesn't. This is a not. EDIT: Joe Nathan
  8. No We're in the process of building a team by bringing up young players from the minors. According to media reports, Rodriguez has been tutoring some of the young Yankees. That's nice. But we're talking about playing time and we already have a crunch.
  9. The original shake http://www.royhooper.com/charo_photo_flag2.gif
  10. Combo of things. He is slow afoot, left-handed and doesn't have a strong arm. As a LF, slow afoot lessens his ability to throw runners out because he has to turn-around to make a throw. He ain't no ballerina. The lack of a strong arm exacerbates the issue. A right-hander in LF would almost always be in a position to make the throw back into the infield right away. In RF, or even CF, Grossman's problem would be less prominent. I'd call Grossman a classic #4 outfielder. Not good enough to start, good enough for pinch-hit, DH and occasional OF duties. If there's a MLB-ready OF in the minors, Grossman is an easy cut.
  11. To me, it depends. Danny Santana and Robbie Grossman have been serving a purpose: Delaying callups of MiLBers who are not quite ready. Need a little more seasoning. This is where the Twins failed Buxton, IMHO going all in on an unproven commodity at MLB-level was desperation move for CF defense. So, who are the ready/almost outfielders? I know ABW and Palka get mentioned a lot [power]. How about Wade? Earlier this year, Wade was ranked higher than ABW (March 4, FanGraphs) If they're not ready right now, why are we talking about ditching either Santana or Grossman? Should Grossman (or DanSan) be in the Twins plans? IDK. Show me the plan!
  12. I've been digging around a little to see if there's something physical that has caused Gomez's decline. He's had hamstring and rib issues this year. The decline really started with the Brewers. Maybe with a couple weeks off to heal and a change in scenery, he could be worth a look. Anything to keep Buxton in the minors longer, IMHO.
  13. I still surprise how Murphy could have a couple [ SSS ] decent season with the NYY, then suddenly disintegrate as soon as he joined the Twins. Don't spend much on a catcher, look for good defense/good arm. Buy low.
  14. Sano NEEDS to play 3rd? Really? Granted, someone has finally gotten Sano to not pat the ball in his glove several times before throwing, but his positional prowess is based on hitting. He should be a full-time DH, with the exception of the inter-league games on NL soil. And, of course, time off for the "regular" 3rd-bagger. Oh, and playing Sano in RF was a worthy effort. We needed to see if he can be more than 3rd/DH/1st type. He was still in the process of learning to read flyballs and running routes. Education incomplete. IF [like the Plouffe injury] need arises, Sano would be OK, as a short term fix. Probably won't get to that point. Plouffe may be back: brace yourselves for disappointment. But if Polanco keeps playing the way he has, Plouffe presence will not be needed. If Vargas continues to hit and play 1st pretty well, wouldn't he be a better trade candidate? Park, Mauer + contracts. Enough said. Already. I apparently don't have enough imagination to picture the Twins trading Dozier.
  15. Happy? http://previews.123rf.com/images/scheriton/scheriton1105/scheriton110500024/9620771-Attractive-Business-Man-in-Suit-with-Silly-Grin-Stock-Photo.jpg
