Despite the below average surface numbers, Alexander has pretty good below the surface numbers. Alexander started against the Cubs last time out, going 5.1IP, allowing 7 runs, 6 earned, on 8 hits while allowing a home run, and walking and striking out 2. This was his first start back in the rotation, but he did throw 94 pitches. He throws a mid 90's fastball, a slower slider, a great sinker, and an above average changeup to left handed hitters.
