  1. The Pitchers RHP Joe Ryan (8-4, 3.67 ERA, 89K, 90.2IP, 1.1 bWAR) vs LHP Julio Urias (11-6, 2.57 ERA, 109K, 115IP, 2.3 bWAR) The Twins hand the ball to Joe Ryan in game one of a quick two game set against the best team in baseball at Dodger Stadium. He'll be opposed by one of the most underrated starters in the MLB, Julio Urias. Urias relies on a mid-90's 4 seam fastball that he throws nearly half the time and opponents are hitting under .200 against the pitch. He also features a slow, loopy curve that doesn't get a ton of swings and misses. He will go to the changeup against right handed hitters, which has a whiff rate over 30 percent and has only gone over the fence twice in 71 batted ball events. Urias threw 6 shutout innings last time out against the Giants, allowing 7 hits, no walks, and 6 strikeouts. The Dodger's will typically allow Urias to reach his pitch count into the 90s provided that things go well, which means he's getting through 6 innings often and occasionally the 7th. 2. I have zero faith in the Twins pitching this one well, so we're going to throw a gem Blue Jays 7, Twins 4
  3. Not great at bats so far. Clearly planning on attacking the fastball early in the count to avoid the breaking ball, but just pounding it into the ground.
  4. Arraez has been hitting a ton of lazy fly balls as of late.
  5. At this rate Tyler Mahle is on pace to be the best pitcher in Twins history
  6. Very interested to see Mahle. Less interested to see this lineup and defense. Twins 6, Blue Jay 3
  7. Can't believe Rocco doesn't have someone up to face Vladdy. Gray has zero clue where the zone is
  8. Wonder if the Blue Jays will push Manoah. He took a liner in his last start and clearly lost his command after getting hit by Correa in this one.
  9. Manoah took a ball off the elbow in his last start. Worth noting.
  10. A 3-0 double play. Teoscar Hernandez should automatically be benched for the rest of the game
  11. Gray is painting just off the outside corner. Rightfully not getting the call, but some night's he does get them. Seems like he's struggling some with the slider command.
  12. Roster Move: Jovani Moran was optioned to AAA-STP to make room for tomorrow's starter Tyler Mahle. OF Gilberto Celestino was activated from the paternity list and Kyle Garlick hit the 10 day IL The Pitchers: RHP Sonny Gray (6-3, 3.41 ERA, 74.0IP, 69K's, 1.0 bWAR) vs RHP Alek Manoah (11-5, 2.43 ERA, 126IP, 114 K's, 3.3 bWAR) The Minnesota Twins will have their hands full with tonight's starter Alek Manoah, who was possibly the biggest winner of the ASG after his mic'd up appearance in Hollywood. Alek last started against the Tigers, going 5.1IP, allowing 4 earned runs on 7 hits including a homer, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. Manoah has yet to start a game this year where he's failed to get through at least 5 innings of work. It is possible the team will be cautious with him as he is a younger arm, but the Jays are right in the middle of a wild card hunt, and he's the best arm on staff. Manoah features a mid 90's fastball, an 80MPH slider, a sinking fastball, and a changeup that he only throws to LHH. The 4 seam is the best pitch per run values, which is -9. The worst pitch is the sinker, which has a RV of only -1. Lineups Twins 1B Luis Arraez L SS C. Correa R DH Byron Buxton R 2B J. Polanco S LF Nick Gordon L 3B Jose Miranda R RF Jake Cave L CF M. 13. Must go with the A bullpen. Duffey, Jax, and Duran. Probably Pagan or Cotton somewhere too
  14. Shoulder issue. Same thing that landed him on the IL a few months ago.
  15. I wonder if BrewersDaily is pissed off for taking a starter out at 60 pitches in the 4th inning with a lead?
  16. Bundy fricken stinks, any competent starter and the Twins win this game fairly easily.
  17. This game reminds me a lot of the MadBum game in Arizona...hopefully with a different result this time
