  1. You're playing with fire everytime Smeltzer takes the bump. He was/is a great story and provided great starts when we really needed them, but he isn't a very good pitcher. I'd much rather start Bundy than Smeltzer.
  2. and now Smeltzer gives up the lefty on lefty homer....unbelievable. Twice in two days that lefties have done this with two strikes. TERRIBLE
  3. Twins likely need a win today to keep pace. Chicago is going to smash Detroit and Cleveland is up 2-0 in the first already against KC and threatening for more
  4. that isn't new to tonight. It's been true since at least 2019.
  5. Thielbar's pitch in a 1-2 count against the best hitter on the other team just has to be better, but Sonny Gray suddenly losing any ability to find the strike zone so quickly is what really kicked us in the ass tonight. Just not a good game other than on the defensive side, and Buxton is in another terrible stretch and probably isn't going to wake up feeling too fresh tomorrow.
  6. Tough loss. Great defense for the most part, and the lineup put up 5 runs but if things are going great this is a game where they put up 9 or 10 runs. Really, really need to win the next 2 as Texas isn't a team you should be losing a series against. Until tomorrow, Go Twins
  7. KC walks off the Guardians and DET is going to be Chicago
  8. Twins will take a lead (probably by multiple runs) before the 9th inning only to blow it. I've seen this movie many times. The only question is whether Garver delievers the knockout punch.
  9. to be fair I have no doubt that the rookie lefty doesn't get a hit off Thielbar, which is when I posted it.
  10. Taylor Rogers had a 5.59 ERA last month and has given up 4 runs in 3 innings in July, for those still upset about that trade.
  11. Thielbar's under the hood stats can say he's as good as he is, but we're now half way through the season and the results are literally terrible. He's fine to keep in the bullpen, but if he's the best lefty in the bullpen after August 2nd, the front office didn't do their job and admitted that they truly aren't all in on winning.
  12. In former twins relievers melting down, Matt Wisler gave the Reds a Balk-Off win in the 10th inning.
  13. Just a terrible ****ing pitching on 1-2 on a lefty on lefty matchup. inexcusable.
  14. Imagine if Gray didn't have the best defensive performance of the year tonight. It's rare to see a veteran like him just lose it in an inning like that.
  15. Not sure why you don't bring in Thielbar to face the lefty right there.
  16. If we get out of this with the lead I'll consider it a W
  17. middle infield showing off their defense tonight (for one team, anyway)
