  1. Mather was the Twins' VP of finance before he went to Seattle. I wonder how much he learned about the joy of low payrolls while working here?
  2. "Kirilloff, of course, became the first player ever to make their Major League debut by starting in a playoff game." First Twins player. I believe it's been done twice before across MLB.
  3. All you need to know is that, if he was out of options, he'd pass through waivers unclaimed.
  4. Great news! This offseason had me worried for a minute or two there but I can rest better tonight.
  5. My favorite thing about this list is that each one of these guys can help the team this year!
  6. There's no way Cruz is as good as he was last year. Remember how fast Thome declined in his last season with the Twins?
  7. FWIW Keith Law just ranked Balazovic as our #3 prospect in his new top 100. Also has Lewis at #2 in the Twins system.
  8. I guess I can't get over his time with the Twins, but I am not afraid of Lance Lynn.
  9. Hm, he's still an above-average 3B by a wide margin right now. It'll be more than one year until he's a liability there.
  10. Without those two guys they were a .500 team. When both were healthy, they were great. I think Buxton and Donaldson take our defense from mediocre to very good, both infield and outfield. And when healthy, they were both mashing. Buxton healthy is a force, helmet flying off, running like crazy, hitting HRs all over the place, beating out singles and doubles. Donaldson is our 2nd best hitter when he's not hurt. That game against the Reds really screwed the team.
  11. Yes. Having a healthy Buxton and Donaldson in these two games would have been a huge help.
  12. Imagine how this plays out if Buxton and Donaldson don't get hurt in the same game a week ago? That was terrible luck.
  13. Sure seemed like playing the infield in quite often this season rarely worked out. Add that one to the list.
  14. That was a weird game. The Sox barely scratched the tying run across, also. Kepler shoudla had Dyson picked off.
  15. Dobnak really had some bad luck last night. Lots of ground ball squibbers through holes. Of course, there were some laser beams too.
