  1. Rough indeed, I wish AK a speedy recovery. This surgery is a big deal, and I’m sure AK has a challenging recovery in front of him. however it isn’t as radical as it sounds. I had a similar surgery done to my dog in 2008. He had a walking cast for 6 weeks and it solved his wrist and elbow displasia. Dogs have two upper arm bones along with two lower, so when one bone grows longer than the other in the forearm it cause issues in both the wrist and the elbow. With my dog they cut a section of the bone out and pinned it back together, then reinforced with a plate and screws.
  2. How about today’s game? Was Sands’ 3 innings of shut out relief without value?
  3. I was encouraged by Duffey’s Late June to late July… then the wheels fell off again. good luck Tyler. I’m sure he’ll get picked up off waivers.
  4. In terms of rate stats he’s top 5 hitter as short stop. In counting stats (WAR) he’s middle of the pack because he’s missed a few games. He’s on pace for a 4 WAR season and 123 wRC+, That is pretty darn good!
  5. Coming into the season the FO had not prioritized the bullpen even knowing the starting pitching staff was going to be closely managed innings, they still traded Rogers for Paddack (another closely managed short start pitcher). Making the bullpen thinner yet. yes the bullpen looks nice for a couple years, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need to improve further.
  6. It makes all the sense in the world for Correa to opt out after the WS, but that article doesn’t sound like Correa has one foot out the door.
  7. The lobbying for the FO to not trade Miranda under what sounds to be some enticing offers. Really good read by Do https://www.mlb.com/news/carlos-correa-did-not-want-jose-miranda-traded
  8. AK isn’t a machine that can be taken down for PMs and just “fixed”. He’s a human being. Medical science has advanced in ways that I don’t understand, but humanity’s understanding of the human body isn’t exhaustive. 40% of doctors and surgeons get sued for medical malpractice at some point in their careers. when my team develops capital projects for New Product Introduction, the machines are typically not built “bullet proof” as much as we build them with redundancy. Fixing a machine when it goes down takes critical time, so asset functionality are qualified in duplicity. Even machines that can be “fixed” need to have a plan B.
  9. This is where I’m at too. also, he’s pitched 85 innings in 22, he pitched 92 (plus the Olympics) last year and nothing in 2020. Sure, he trained in 2020 and 2021, but it’s going to take him a year or more to rebuild the stamina to get back to 120+ innings. his workload is being managed, and sophomore slump and all… I’m not worried that he’s had a rough couple months.
  10. 1) I voted B, would have gone B+ were it an option 2) a good controllable starter, 1 very good reliever, 1 solid setup man and a backup catcher. They did a surprising volume of transactions all at the tail end. A better setup man and another good starter (one better transaction, one additional) would have made it an A. The team is in a better position for this year and next, but didn’t give up the whole farm. 3) definitely better suited to make the post season, Sox and Guardians did nothing, so if the Twins don’t win the division, I’ll be very disappointed. Need some health and to catch fire to make waves in the post season. 4) they plugged some bullpen and rotation holes for 23, which improves my outlook for next year too. Beyond, prospects are such a crapshoot that I couldn’t form a coherent opinion.
  11. If you slide the top to the right it has the eight track and record stand
  12. they are playing with house money today - absolutely bonkers!
