  1. 20 puts us in the last third of the league. That is my point - I have used fantasy, I have gone to the standard references and still cannot find one that puts us in the top third of even top half of the league. So I conceded in one post that combined we have a number 2 catcher, but until Jeffers progresses we do not have a number one.
  2. I am so sad - the BP just looks like an impending disaster. The SP is a mirage. Help. Tell me the CBD was laced with THD and I am just not seeing the future correctly.
  3. So? I suspect the projections were right on and the ranking still holds for me. Do you want the fantasy rankings? Sanchez 16, Jeffers 35. six days ago. Choose the list, the URL. we just are not as good as we would like
  4. Wait and see. Hope, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I thought Cano would be good.
  5. A sad game - if it were the only one it would be no big deal, but after KC, we cannot continue to give away the games against the bottom feeders. I do not blame Miranda. I do not excuse Bundy. I do not understand the roster construction.
  6. Okay - you win - when you combine the two of them!
  7. I guess fangraphs have not looked at the same stats that you have - they have us ranked 20th at catcher in positional rankings.
  8. This means nothing, but it was fun. Thanks
  9. Only 6 of the top 20 prospects yesterday? Are we that banged up? I really appreciate the multi-hit list. That is just as interested as who hit a HR. As usual this was a really informative report.
  10. Years ago I suffered a bone bruise from a car accident. It was terrible. I still remember a doctor telling me I might have been better off with a break. Don't underestimate this injury, especially since it is on the knee where flex is essential. We need Celestino back quickly.
  11. I enjoy these summaries. When I see Kepler avoids the IL but then doesn't play it raises a question for me. Would it be better to IL him if he has to rest a few games to keep an active player on the roster instead? Your observations about Buxton were accurate coming through last week - what are your prognostications for next week? Thank goodness, for Gordon. He jumps in when needed and is really delivering from his bench spot. Let's hope they bring up another starter if Ryan is down. No BP games, the BP is already wearing down and I do not want to see them fill a nine inning game. I worry about Duffey and his downward trend, Pagan and his tightrope walk, and just about anyone but Duran. Even Joe Smith looked human last week.
  12. We do not have a number one catcher or a number 2. We hardly have a catcher, but time may change that - I hope it does.
  13. Just asking - why did we wait until Miranda was really starting to turn things around before we sent him down?
  14. PLEASE - ROCCO - this injury is not because you let a starter go more than 4 innings. It really wasn't. You did the right thing! Can the Twins please invest in some spongy, soft, absorbing outfield covering to project Lewis/Buxton/???? Thank you Larnach. Come back Clestino - we are starting to get an OF.
  15. Lewis is number 1 any way you look at it. His bat has worked in AAA and MLB this year. Kiriloff has struggled in MLB, still has a weak wrist and should still be up soon. We need bats and both of them give us real threats. I want to bring them both up, but when I look at the team Lewis and his ability in the field makes him the logical choice because whoever comes up should not go back down.
  16. KC 17 runs and 2 of 3 games against the Twins - They are in last place, let's be careful about crowning this team as a champion.
  17. I cannot find much to be happy with here. Archer has had enough time to become a 5+ starter, but maybe he just does not have it and should be a RP. Not impressed with him or the plan. I am redundant, but bring up Lewis! This is nonsense, we need his bat and energy. (I do have to say I continue to be happy with Arraez and have real hope that Larnach is for real now.)
  18. What am I missing. I looked at tonight's box score and at the bench and I don't see celestino. Never mind I found the answer. Since I'm currently in New York with covid myself I understand how difficult it is to avoid this plague I would consider bringing Lewis back up instead of another pitcher.
  19. Still not convinced that the twins are in command. They certainly look like the best team in the division, but our bullpen and the lack of run production against our lousy divisional foes gives us plenty to concern ourselves with
  20. Duffey has not shown anything that makes him a reliable RP this year. But that said, I understand the angst that is in the comments - we cannot keep leaving pitchers in when they do not have it and watch them fill the bases. Come on Rocco - you yank Smeltzer when he was still going well, you leave in Duffey when he obviously is not.
  21. I said it earlier in the year (too early according to Seth) but Rodriguez needs to be challenged. He looks like he will be a terrific player and he should be given every chance to succeed. Like others I am disappointed in Balazovic, but I need to know more before losing faith in him. By the way I think a guy names Lewis needs to be in the majors. Where do you play him?
  22. You really covered a lot of the important points. Time of game is an issue too, with another post pointing to crime concerns, late night after 3 hour games is not something many people are pleased with. The lock out created terribly negative reactions in fans and like the previous strikes it takes a lot to bring fans back. The lockout was stupid, so much negativity in a sport that is fighting to hold its place among the professional leagues. We now have every option in sports and we have a wonderful set of options for people who do not care about sports. I do worry that baseball seems to have lost its way in the public arena.
  23. Having just gotten covid, if he has my symptoms he is not going to get rest. Good luck Joe, I hope it is a case of not symptoms.
  24. I think Ryan and Ober have really passed the test to date, the key will be getting through July/August. I am excited to have them in the rotation and wish Winder was still available. One more thought about pitchers and W-L. If starting pitchers are only going 4 innings it is time to replace the rule that a pitcher has to go 5 innings to get a win. We are now in an era of BP games even when it isn't designated as such. Time to give the win to the pitcher who holds the other team down when his team goes ahead, no matter the innings pitched.
  25. I never look at ERA for a BP arm - too misleading for the innings and circumstances. They can come in give up some runs and still have an era of zero if the runs are charged to the previous pitcher. I would like to see the runs divided between RP and the previous pitcher. WHIP is so much more of a true judgment for RP and Pagan plays with fire and gasoline. Duran is the one piece that is dependable and something to build around. I wish Alcala was here - he would add the second piece. Thielbar and Duffey have lost a lot of their dependability. Cano has not shown what I think he can do. Joe Smith has been great and I hope he can keep going. I am still not sold on Jax and Megill is just another pickup that we rotate in to fill the pen. With that set of arms I am not confident. But I am liking the SP going deeper. I do not worry about this particular game - all teams - good and bad - wins some games during the year. I mean the Orioles beat the Yankees one game this week.
