  1. No. Because “many twins fans” didn’t believe that Zach Granite “should’ve taken over cf full time”
  2. All true, expect the minor league water seems just fine. It's the major league water that seems to be a problem.
  3. Who's going to get spicy in the offseason and place Graterol as the Twin's #1 prospect? His combination of missing bats and control all while playing against guys 4 years older than him is really special. He's likely to make a mockery of A+/AA next year.
  4. They may have thought he was expendable this spring but we have more information now and I don't think there's a single MLB team that would drop Cave given his 800 OPS over 160PAs in the majors. It's also not totally unexpected. He's been hitting quite well at every level in 2017/2018. Is it a mirage? Maybe. We'll see. Every projection system has him as a 700+ OPS guy moving forward. Add in 5 years of team control and the ability to play all 3 outfield positions and he is a valuable asset. Sometimes the Yankees get it wrong too.
  5. Akil's game is going to age really well. He's clearly a student of the game and that OBP is going to play really well next to Lewis and and kirilloff.
  6. Not a fair comp at all. Butera was very old at every level. His absolute upside as a 23/24 year old in A+ was always league average. Not a single FO would trade 2018 Rortvedt for 2007 Butera
  7. Lamarre is 29 with a .506 career OPS and has no future with the twins, or any winning team. Almost anyone would be better than him right?
  8. Yeah I don't know. The FO is putting on a clinic at the deadline. I guess some people had their heart set on the twins competing this year and aren't taking it well?
  9. Chase De Jong was # 16 in Seattle's org rankings? They must have a very weak system. He seems AAAA at best. Ryan Costello is the more interesting of the two for me despite being quite old for the levels he's playing at.
  10. I'm surprised at the lack of strikeouts from Enlow. He was touted as a high end arm and he's profiling a lot like Kohl Stewart to me.
  11. If Sano was 25% bodyfat when he was sent down(certainly on the high end) and lost 15 pounds of fat, then he lost 20% of the fat on his body. The idea that people can drop 15 pounds by eating salads doesn't ring true.Water weight tends to make up around 2 or 3 pounds of weight loss. He looks as slim as I've seen him in 2018 or 2017. Hopefully he finds his way.
  12. Obviously that's not the best case return. I don't think you really believe that.
  13. I'd call it hacky analysis, but odd works as a descriptor too. Steamer projects Gordon as a slightly below league average offensive SS at the age of 22. Anyone suggesting he is a bust shouldn't be taken seriously. Of all the things to be negative about...
  14. Fair enough, The problem is that Kyle Gibson will be pitching 0 relevant innings for the Twins. He's done well. Let's reward him with a trade to a contender and get someone who may play relevant games.
  15. Build a pitching staff for what? The season is over and the Twin's O/U wins next year will likely be under 80.
  16. Hard evidence of what? You're literally arguing that you're smarter than 100% of front offices. What are your qualification to be a thought leader for MLB front offices?
  17. That's not how this thread has gone at all. People have explained exactly what they like or don't like about Molitor and it's not because of small samples of wins/loses. I just don't get the point of bombing every single Molitor thread with multiple posts about how little managers effect the game and then back it up with no evidence whatsoever. Manager's roles are certainly going to be different in the future and Molitor doesn't check any of the boxes. https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2017/11/being-a-good-manager-is-no-longer-good-enough/544784/
  18. Maybe, but very likely not. So are we just supposed to stop talking about managers forever then? Every single Molitor thread now devolves into a manager value discussion with someone making the the totally unfounded claim that managers are irrelevant. If he's neutral EV then what do you care? Hiring a new manager won't hurt anything.
  19. I think the job descriptions are mostly self explanatory so I'm not sure what exactly what you're asking.
  20. I've seen you post this a lot but baseball is an information saturated environment. Certainly more so than the other major sports. The idea that data driven billion dollar organizations are spending millions when they could be spending 10 cents on the dollar is incredibly unlikely. What are you basing your assertion on? It seems likely that FOs would be very open to cutting 1 million off their books at the cost of 0 wins and even more unlikely that random internet posters would have found that market inefficiency before 100% of teams. What do you know that they don't?
