  1. Gordon is a really great piece. He projects to be an above average hitting middle inf. Reviews of his defense are mixed but he has the physical tools to be above average at both SS/2nd.I'm really excited to see what happens with him.
  2. No. The Twins will never be a favorite in a playoff game with Milone as the starting pitcher. Every year there are multiple free agents the twins could sign to replace his value. Keeping him in the rotation and leaving May(or anyone with upside) out is quite odd. He's Mr. Irrelevant.
  3. Velocity is a readily available stat to find. How many elite pitchers top out at 91? How many really good but not elite pitchers top out at 91? Velocity is king. The Twins clearly don't agree and that's why their K/9 #s have been a laughingstock for 5 years.
  4. "take away the 20-7 May, and the Twins would have finished with around 76 wins." Ok. But why would you take a random 27 games out of the sample? What's the point? Seems try-hard and offers nothing analytical to the discussion. That's not the way data-analysis works in any field, at any level. Again, what's the point?
  5. Yeah I think a lot of people are confused as to what they are doing with Jones. Pitchers are regressing in their late 20s and he's a legit strikeout phenom at 24. What do they want him to do?
  6. The season is young enough as it is. Breaking production down into first 6 games vs middle 10 games vs last 7 games isn't informative at all. I understand articles need to be written and writing an article saying "we don't know much right now so let's give it more time" won't get as many page views but this type of analysis doesn't do anyone here any favors. On the forum we constantly see "after starting his first 10 games batting xyz he's now batting zyx in his last 10 games. It's purely statistical noise and over-analyzing. A 10 game sample should have no part in any quality analysis, and yet we say it time and time again. "in the month of may....... happened." No in the month of may absolutely nothing of significance has happened.
