    I believe there have been a couple of MLB players, recently, who have retired before their contract was up. Adam Laroche for one. Could have stuck around and collected and opted not to.

    I have to wonder what Falvey and Levine are thinking right now. The Twins are on the fringe of contending and, meanwhile, the FO duo is still trying to find their way around the organization along with trying to figure out what's for real and what is smoke and mirrors. Sell? Buy? Grin and Bear it while standing pat? Run shrieking from the organization? Wondering if they should take up drinking and drugs?

    The Dodgers and Houston in July. Talk about a dose of crushing reality. But,that's okay, because the Twins have gone from doormats to competitive in just a year, which is great. Speaking of great, great job, RB!

    Shoot, I was hoping TD was offering a Platinum Membership as a prize. Maybe toss in a light beer along with the Platinum Membership.

    Sorry, not buying this, at all. Youth has been well served on this team and it's time to stop bringing in the aging veteran types. Yeah, a couple of veterans are needed on almost any club but Colon is a veteran and a half. No thanks.

    I could hear Smalley cringe with some of the pitches the Orioles players put in play. Sounded like Roy wanted no part of standing in against Kintzler tonight.

    Although, we've not seen as many birds lately, well, other than doves. Once in a great while, I'll catch an owl roosting in the top of one of our trees. It's interesting to see a barrel of feathers perched on the very top of a tree. And, I saw a hawk take a dove in our backyard a few weeks ago. I saw a pile of feathers on the ground, wondered what was going on and wandered up just in time to see the hawk take off with its prey. Pretty much how nature works. Get lots of prey and the predators show up.

    No doubt. I like the rotation the Twins seem to have in the booth now, with Morris, Bert, Hunter, Smalley and Hawkins.

    And, unfortunately, Smalley will continue to talk the subject beyond the point where the audience starts to nod off.

    Doves, probably the dumbest bird I've ever run across. Pigeons, though, not much more than winged rats. Anyway, and I cannot remember what they are, but my wife and I catch site of a flock of tropical birds on occasion. We think they must have escaped from somewhere and bred, because they certainly are not native to Bakersfield. It's amusing to see these brightly colored birds that look like they belong in a movie that is set in the tropics hanging around our redwoods.
