  1. One of the biggest lies ever foisted off on the American public is "everyone needs to go to college." Uh, no, we still need plumbers, welders, electricians, heavy equipment operators, carpenters, etc.
  2. I give people that impression too. I wonder if it's due to the Barcalounger in my office?
  3. A guy I used to work with, in reference to a co-worker, used to say: "One can work smart or one can work hard and he's the hardest working guy in the factory."
  4. Yeah, but San Diego isn't as weird as Austin. Probably wouldn't be your kind of place.
  5. I did. Live within a few miles of several faults. The San Andreas is about 50 miles from where I live. No big deal. Besides, not only does the Midwest have Tornadoes, snow, ice, blizzards and mosquitoes, there's also the New Madrid fault. You know, the one that made the Mississippi flow backwards. Out here, it's earthquakes, fires and the occasional mud slide. I think we're ahead of the game.
  6. Having lived within a couple miles from the tornado that tore through 50th and France, I'll take the fault.
  7. Are you talking about the Iron Range and the various lakes scattered through MN?
  8. The bear finally come out of hibernation in your backyard?
  9. I think you're counting on our eyes to glaze over while reading your threads, thereby missing important gaffes. We're on to you and the games you play.
  10. Without the humidity, rust, road construction and cold. Other than that, yeah, just like Minneapolis...
  11. No, I'm not that smart. Evidently, once I started putting in zeros, I didn't know when to stop.
  12. Dick mentioned Granite leading off which, if the guy continues to hit, isn't a bad thought. And there have been a couple of times earlier this year it would have been nice to have Granite to bring in as a defensive replacement.
  13. I agree. I wonder if Granite could make Grossman the odd man out?
  14. uh, in my case, that would probably be "War and Peace: The Sequel"
  15. Sounds like a mission for the "Whine Line." Been MIA this season. Hard to believe there's nothing Twins fans care to whine about.
  16. Just remember, you set the bar really high last year. Anything less and it'll be a failure. But, no pressure.
