  1. He's certainly not hitting like he's done in the past, or can, but he's playing a great short. I agree though...it sure would be nice to see him smack the ball around and drive in some runs.
  2. Looking forward to seeing Mahle pitch, but I don't hold out much hope for getting him some run support. He and the pen will have to be lights out for us to win. Very glad to see Miranda in there after getting hit last night. Go Twins!
  3. I think some team will take a flyer out on him. I doubt he'll clear and stay with the organization.
  4. Being a middle reliever is what he's best suited for in the bigs. He's just not a viable starter, other than maybe the occasional spot start. They should've brought him up over Sands. Since Rocco refuses to let just about any starter go more than 4-5 innings, Smeltzer could pick up an inning or two in the middle somewhere.
  5. Who is this Duffy guy that I keep reading posts about? Is he kind of like Duffey, but somehow different? If Duffy is better than Duffey, maybe we can keep Duffy and get rid of Duffey. Anyway, I do feel bad for the guy, but he HAD to go. He was killing us.
  6. Hopefully, this serves as a warning shot over Pagan's bow.
  7. Biggest problem with Miranda's defense at 3rd isn't his glove...it's his arm. He bounces every other throw to 1st base. He can make most of the plays with his glove. Even if we have a gold glover at 1st, some of those throws are going to be missed. Urshela HAS to play 3rd with the occasional day off. Right now, Miranda should be a DH/1B. No way can we take his bat out of the lineup. I don't know why Arraez can't play some LF, he wasn't that bad out there before. We're so short handed in the OF now, he could handle that from time to time. There are ways to rotate some of these guys around and give them all adequate playing time. Cave is a marginal major leaguer. Only in emergency situations. Contreras doesn't belong up here. Celestino is a late inning defensive replacement guy...that's all. I'd DFA Duffey immediately, and another melt down by Pagan, and he goes too. There's no way you can convince me that we don't have someone better to replace either of them. Just do it. We're trying to win a weak division, we can't keep blowing games with the same old usual suspects in the bullpen.
  8. Wow...another stellar performance by Pagan and Duffey. Megill was just as bad last night too. There might be some hope left for him, but not the other two. When will someone in the organization wake up and realize that Pagan and Duffey are just plain bad, and are only to be used in mop up situations. You can't throw Pagan out there with a tight one run lead and expect him to hold it. Pagan and Duffey have run out of chances, it's time to dump them.
  9. Kind of an off night with his command for Gray, but he kept them off the board. Pagan next, so it's nail biting time.
  10. Wasn't sure about that, but if that's the case...you bet, bring him in here.
  11. We can't let them come in here and kick our butts. We have to at least split the four games.
  12. If the price was right, I'd take him over Celestino any day of the week.
  13. It's been one game. I think we need to slow the roll a bit. Sure it looks like we made a couple decent additions to the pen, along with a good starter. I'd prefer to wait 2-3 weeks and see how things shake out, and also how Rocco is going to use them.
  14. The more I see of Jose Miranda, the more impressed I am. We've got a good one there, and he's only going to get better. It's no wonder that C4 went out of his way to talk to management and implored them not to trade Miranda. I'm looking forward to many years of his bat in the line up.
  15. Gotta win this one. Can't let Det take the series. Hopefully, the bats can get going...we need some consistency at the plate scoring runs. Go Twins!
  16. Simply the best there ever was. Rest in peace.
  17. Fulmer just has to switch clubhouses, but how soon can we get Mahle and Lopez here? We need all the help we can get. It's like a mash unit with all the wounded guys we have. We need to suck it up and put some runs on the board. Drink plenty of fluids out there too!
  18. We should know fairly soon if they were able to pull this one off. Wouldn't that be a kicker!
  19. Fulmer didn't look all that great last night, but he's been ok this season for the Tigers. He's an upgrade over some of our current pen arms.
  20. Well...I'd rather have Pablo Lopez or Blake Snell.
  21. That probably seals the deal on Sano. Doubt we'll see him in a Twins uni again.
