  1. And it's not just this season. He had a whole litany of boneheaded mistakes last year too, including overthrowing the cutoff man about a billion times. Well, that's a bit of exaggeration but I think you get the point.
  2. I like Hildy but I saw that one coming. But wait, there's more! Another bad play from Rosario!
  3. I think the Twins need to either offer the Marlins a minor leaguer to trade for Kinley's rights or let him go. Kinley has some intriguing stuff but he needs more time in the high minors (AA or AAA, either is fine) and the Twins shouldn't be messing around with the 7th bullpen slot. With Hildy and Duke being erratic, we could use Busenitz or Moya in that spot over Kinley, of whom Molitor isn't going to trust. We saw how this played out with Haley last year and it's going to be a repeat of that situation if they try to keep him on the roster for the whole season.
  4. It stinks that Lynn's already at 90 pitches, but he's held the MLB's best offense to 4 scoreless innings. He can't do anything about the offense's futility against Verlander.
  5. The Twins went through a bit of work to get Vargas to AAA while stripping him of his 40 man roster spot. They're not going to bring him back in a couple weeks just because Morrison is struggling in the first week of April. Maybe he'll need a few days on the bench, just like Polanco did in July of last year. He's hitting in just his 7th game of the season, and there's a 153 games left to go... give him some time.
  6. Still not as bad as when Molitor brought out JR Graham to face A-Rod with the bases loaded with a 3 run lead. Anyone could have seen the result of that at bat coming a mile away.
  7. Well, seeing that Rochester hasn't even been able to play a game yet, it seems to make sense to keep the better prospects in AA where they can actually play. I think they (Gonsalves, Gordon) will be making their way up to AAA sooner than later.
  8. Eh... I'm not concerned yet. Molly's not going to use them in close games, that's clear. He needs to ease them in before he trusts them in a close game. Moya's likely headed to Rochester in a few days when Hughes is activated as the 5th starter, so he'll get to pitch there more often.
  9. Well, they're going to get Duke to try and hold the lead. Let's see if Garver can handle his low pitches.
  10. Huh, didn't think Gibson would be done so soon. I think he had another inning in him.
  11. And now we have our third straight game allowing at least one run in the first inning...
  12. Agreed, and I can confirm that Milwaukee's retractable roof is disappointing as well. You either build a stadium open like Target Field or closed like the Vikings Stadium but it still feels like it's outside with the glass roof.
  13. Kinley's the rule 5 guy who hasn't had a good season above high A, so throwing him into a non-blowout isn't a wise idea. The less he plays, the better. The ump today had a tiny strike zone, so I'm not concerned with the walks, but Duke's pitching style seems to consist of 40% of the pitches landing in the dirt. That's probably just the small sample size but he needs to try and land more pitches in the strike zone.
  14. Gotta love how they brought out the lefty specifically to get Kepler out and he nails a double on the first pitch he sees. NOICE!
  15. According to the Holy Unwritten Rules, thou must score by hitting solo home runs only. Trying to get guys on base to score when down by this much is considered bush league. ...And then Dozier hits a solo HR as I type this. Nice.
  16. In contrast to how Gibson and Odorizzi were wild but effective, Lynn has been ineffectively wild. That's 6 walks already.
  17. I think we all jinxed Lynn with those articles about starting pitching yesterday. I guess the pressure got to him!
  18. Exactly, they're getting upset over something really dumb. Why shouldn't Sisco try to get on base and start a rally? Some of the Twins comments from Dozier and Berrios are some of the dumber things I've ever heard. Yeah, let's shame the rookie for trying to win the game when they're down big in the 9th.
  19. That's about the best start I could have asked for from our rotation. Just fantastic pitching from all three of the guys, and we haven't even seen Lynn and Ervin will eventually be back. This team is gonna be good this year. If the lineup can do what they did last year and our starting and relieving pitching is improved like we've seen so far, we have a playoff-caliber squad here.
  20. Agreed, I'm not ready to give up on him. Giving up one run in the 11th isn't going to instantly make me hate him, especially after he saved Hildy's backside in the 10th with that DP groundball.
