  1. I agree about Curtiss. He throws hard doesn't walk many and is handling the pressure of closing. Haley is worth a chance but not Curtiss?
  2. He and Gibson look scared on the mound. Their confidence is shot and I get the feeling neither of them trust that they can throw it where they need to.
  3. I have posted this elsewhere but I see a trend pitching to Sano. Fastballs up and sliders low and away. I hate to say it but Sano is going to hit a rough patch until he adjusts. I think the book is out as he loves to golf those low fastballs.
  4. The Os pitched him up in the zone and he struggled. I think he's going to see a steady diet of that until he adjusts.
  5. He throws hard IIRC. I wonder what his secondary pitches are like. Maybe he should be in the conversation with Burdi as first call ups.
  6. Honestly I don't know what I would do probably nothing while we are winning but neither Castro or giminez is good enough to block a legit prospect.
  7. Grossman has his back pocket out. As if anybody much less the youth of Minnesota give a bleep if he chews.
  8. The idea that Castro and Giminez have had this magical benefit is folly. Neither can hit and the magic framing factor seems to have disappeared. I think we will eventually learn that a catchers ability to frame pitches is largely dependent on the pitcher throwing the pitch.
  9. Wright or Greene. One factor favoring Wright is that he likely contributes while we still have our young core. Greenes best years might be when Sano is playing for the Yankees.
  10. Enjoyable discussion however I think how good your 5th starter is probably matters more than your 1st.
  11. If his upside is really #3 starter I go with Greene. You can't use the first overall pick for a mid rotation starter.
  12. This is a very good article using solid info to shed light on a confusing situation. I think the Twins have handled this properly. Hopefully he can be a depth piece as they chase a wild card spot this year and then non tender him this fall.
  13. The arbitration system will decide this problem. Don't know what the arb number will be but probably pushing $5 million next year. Non tender and there isn't anything he can do the rest of this year to change that.
  14. He scorched two balls last night. He's much different than Hicks was. Buck is not passive at all and still takes a healthy hack (too healthy imo). Hicks was so passive almost hoping for a walk.
  15. I'm a big Polanco fan and happy that he is playing well. Still believe his best position is 2nd but love his overall game. Polanco, Vielma, Gordon and Polacios; the Twins suddenly are deep at a position that was a wasteland for years.
  16. I still think he has to make his swing more compact and focus on contact. He's long to the hitting zone so he has to start a little early which negates his ability to recognize pitches. I would lower his hands and ditch the leg kick. He needs to look at video of his manager.
  17. Classy move by Dozier giving complete credit to Buxton for drawing a walk ahead of his double. I think this is what leadership looks like.
  18. This why I still hope for a Dozier trade. They lack for starters throughout the organization so trading is really the only solution.
  19. Yep and we can do the same with Mauer, Rosario and Buxton before we burn them at the stake.
  20. Dumb play by Dozier. No point in trying that. So much for veteran leadership.
