  1. Ryan first for sure. I might have snuck Duran in there. His numbers are not as good but he has dominated at times.
  2. At this point he is what he is. Why are people surprised when he goes through a prolonged slump? Soon enough he is going to hit 5 homers in 5 games and people will write articles that he has finally figured it out. Then he will slump again. My guess is it’s his last season as a Twin.
  3. One other thing……Duran is looking better every time he goes out there. He was so efficient I was hoping they would give him a third inning. What a weapon to have in the pen. Now we just need two more like him….
  4. Sands and Godoy. Celestino should be next assuming Buck is healthy. Celestino is doing fine but needs to play everyday. His routes to the ball need to be cleaned up. I’ve noticed several balls he hasn’t gotten to that should have been caught.
  5. It’s fun to watch. The difference in Correas throws compared to our shortstops of recent past is noticeable.
  6. Fun game. I hope Archer can regain his command. The stuff is there but he isn’t throwing enough strikes. It’s going to catch up to him.
  7. Celestino needs to play wherever he is at. If Rocco won’t get him in there regularly then he needs to go to St Paul and play in all three outfield spots. If he can hit a little he would be a great complementary outfielder for our current set up. You know, the guy they should have got years ago.
  8. Herb was the best. I grew up with him and was literally a part of my life because few games were on TV. Gordon was just ok for me. I love Provus. He has a smooth style that doesn’t get old and I enjoy his dry sense of humor.
  9. I missed the game today. What happened to Ober? 79 pitches to get 11 outs?
  10. I wish Smeltzer the best as I think he can help the Twins. That said I couldn’t care less about his opinions on the pitch clock. The game is for the fans and anything that speeds up the game and creates more action is critical to the future of the game.
  11. Vallimont can’t throw it over the plate. Never has. I would move him off the 40 man and not give it a second thought.
  12. Let’s not be naïve. He’s gone after this year unless things go horribly wrong. And there is nothing wrong with that. The Twins can’t and shouldn’t hand out a mega contract to him.
  13. Love the powder blues…….and Paddock’s high socks.
  14. My criteria would be they have to be pitching well right now and be able to throw strikes. That narrows the list considerably. Smeltzer might be the best choice as our current lefties don’t inspire confidence.
  15. This. If he wouldn’t have signed such a team friendly deal I’m convinced he would be gone. I hope he he hits his incentives and gets LOTS of the Pohlads money.
  16. I don’t care. He has to be healthy and just be Byron Buxton. The rest will take care of itself.
  17. Don’t worry about it. History tells us that we will be scraping for starters in a month. Archer isn’t going anywhere.
  18. Can’t wait for the pitch clock. Never wanted but it’s the only way the game is going to move along.
  19. Especially because we will see his name a lot more now that Rodgers has been traded.
  20. The end was a good old fashioned Legion ball snowball fight. Credit Jeffers with some key blocks. They were all pretty much right at him but it is not usually a strength for him. Any of those get by him and it’s a different game.
  21. It’s not hard to figure out why this lineup is not producing. Half the spots are black holes and I have no expectation that Sano Kepler Sanchez or Jeffers will substantially improve. Larnach has hit some balls hard and is still gaining experience so he might produce. I’m really worried about Jeffers - he’s getting worse.
  22. I like Dick and I like him more now that he is not with Bert. He isn’t afraid to say nothing which is such a blessing in this day and age of talking heads. I like Smalley. He knows the game, makes his point and then shuts up.
  23. I’m not hesitant to criticize our front office. However I want to give them credit for signing Nelson Cruz, getting great production from him and then flipping him for Joe Ryan. Huge benefits that may last for many more years with Ryan in the rotation. Here is the must un-sabr observation ever. Ever notice that Nick Gordon does something positive every time he gets in there?
