  1. Great point and look no further than those hilarious Houston offers leaked a few years ago to see it in action.
  2. Plouffe for sure is an offseason move. I'd consider Hicks for Norris now.
  3. I still think Hicks for Norris is the beginning framework of a deal. I also think Plouffe should be shopped. I get the hesitation, but with his age and approaching FA decision, I think the possibility of swapping him for a SS or C is prudent.
  4. Had the team opted to trade him last year, there was quite a bit of catcher movement this offseason we could have indulged in.
  5. With Sano in the middle the lineup would balance out tremendously with a leadoff guy that could force Dozier into the middle of the order. But that's also likely where we want Buxton.
  6. You cite opening day starting nods? Quick.....tell them about Kevin Correia! They're 25th in the league in starter's ERA. I don't think they'd be opposed to adding arms to help them, now whether Pelfrey is that or not is a different question. However, Navarro is hardly asking for a huge haul.
  7. With the kind of contact guys have been getting off of Fien lately, we may have even more problems ahead.
  8. The Jays are pretty desperate for starting pitching help. I'm not saying they do it, but I think it's a pretty reasonable suggestion.
  9. His path took him too far to LF and offtrack of the flight path. He had to go over the shoulder because he didn't have time to correct his route. Great concentration to do that, but it wouldn't have looked so tough if his path had been correct in the first place.
  10. It was lucky, bad route, but it was excellent concentration after that mistake.
  11. He made that look a lot more difficult than it was, but glad he caught it.
  12. Yeah, I'm referencing Pelfrey. I think Milone has earned his spot.
  13. I really, really don't like that decision. This just stinks of veteran coddling.
  14. We have/had like four threads about Sano. Maybe, just maybe, that explains it. Or we could just be excited about Sano being up.
  15. Generally I agree, but Vargas looked pretty lost. The mistake was sending him down the first time, this time seems justified. But this team is caught in a weird in-between of rebuilding and contending and that is forcing them to act in a weird in-between way.
  16. I know I'm going to be tuned in tomorrow to see him hit. Patient with the expectations people. Let the kid adapt.
  17. The guy has really proven that extension to be a smart thing and steadied his play considerably.
  18. My god that is one ugly slide. Put that one on the top of the offseason list of "things to work on" along with general base running/stealing.
