  1. Looking like a solid program today. One of the few times I've been able to watch them.
  2. Nice year Cashman. I hope he gets a shot at the next level. Dude is a stud.
  3. Terrible call on Cashman. These announcers are going to drive me crazy.
  4. Should have changed my 401k to a less aggressive plan 2 weeks ago when I wanted to.... Hoping for a late year rally now. Recession of 2019 looms over us...
  5. Contraction is inevitable. It is just a matter of when and how long it lasts. The housing market is already slowing way down. Combine this with stagnant wages and millennials not able to afford houses. The writing is on the wall. The economy is good now, but part of the strength is a short term boost from the tax cuts. This will not have a lasting impact. By this time next year the economy could be in a very different place. I'm considering changing my 401k to a less aggressive plan in anticipation, just not ready to pull the trigger yet.
  6. The writing was poor. No plot really, side plots didn't make sense. Conclusion was inconclusive. No real drama or build up. I'm just puzzled why they even released this season. They could have done a lot with what they had left, and failed.
  7. Finished house of cards. Was not a huge fan of this season.
  8. So long Joe. Bring up Munson! Munson> Mauer> sweet wine>Twitter
  9. A nice bounce back game so far. This Purdue team isn't bad. Defense holding a dangerous offense to zilch, but got crushed last week by a Chevy Malibu.
  10. We've agreed in many ways about the importance of having competent coaches. I wish he could have kept Claeys as DC, because I really feel his schemes and adjustments were very good.
  11. I'm not worried about an established HC. I just want someone that comes from an atmosphere of winning. Don't mess with coaches from bad programs that haven't made an impact. Look at the Alabama staff, Clemson staff, Ohio State, Georgia etc.
  12. He gone. Smith fired by Fleck, d line coach will assume the position for the rest of the year. Previous Rutgers coordinator. Ok, Arkansas coordinator, Rutgers coordinator... Fleck, hire some coaches that come from success. Even if they aren't FBS coaches, get guys that are going to be elite. Don't just talk about it.
  13. I think we all gave them credit for that win. Despite the record, Fresno State hasn't really beaten anyone good. The problem is how inept this team has looked the past 2 years. Talent, or age doesn't fix that.
  14. The DC hire never made sense from the beginning. Fleck needs to be more careful with hires in the future.
  15. Progress to the next AD and football coach. Won't be sorry to see Coyle gone.
  16. At least fleck was honest post game.
  17. Anybody watch the game today? I thought this was the last winnable big ten game. The only saving grace for this season is a win against Bucky.
  18. Yeah.... That ball at three end was very nicely thrown. I thought we were going to see more of Morgan earlier in the season. Indiana isn't a barometer, but I'd stick with him for sure after this game.
  19. They won! I didn't get to watch it, but from the recap it seems they were killing it, then stumbled in the fourth, but pulled it out with a beautiful throw and catch. Next week should be winnable too. After that, if Fleck finds a way to beat Wisconsin, I call it a good season.
  20. I'm not debating this with you until this season is over. You think Fleck took over the same types of programs as Kill and Mason, and that Mason had the same facilities. We obviously don't have the same expectations.
  21. None of them took over a team that went 5-4 in the big ten, and 9 wins overall the year before. Fleck took over an established solid team, and has turned it to **** so far. Maybe Claeys wouldn't have done any better, but coming within a yard of beating Michigan to getting stomped by a 0-6 Nebraska team is notable. Fleck did not inherit a mess like Kill, or Mason. Fleck also has a new stadium, new facilities, a great economy for opportunities post college. The more I think about it, the less excuses he has. The season is not over, so I'm not judging until it is, but... I don't like what I see and neither should anyone else.
  22. I think all of us on this board want to see the team succeed. There are some of us that are a lot more cynical and skeptical than others.
  23. There are some issues in dinkytown. The way I see it, they only have 2 marginally winnable games left. If they don't win next week, I might say zero. No amount of motivation can beat actual coaching. A 4 touchdown deficit in the first half is absolutely unacceptable. Getting blown out by a winless team is absolutely unacceptable. I'm not on the fire pj fleck train, but whatever he's doing isn't working. These types of performances are fireable offenses.
  24. Yikes. So much for the start to their second half of the year. Not watching the game, but probably glad I'm not. Nebraska hasn't been as bad as their record would suggest... but that doesn't mean they should be up 28-0 in the first half.
