  1. Is he still hitting the balls on the outer half, or had he adjusted and taking advantage of balls elsewhere? Heatmap of the last several days?
  2. If he is willing to take direction, it is only a matter of time. The guy has talent. The internal debate I'm having is wether to let him work through it in the lineup, in AAA, or with lots of time on the bench. I lean toward the latter.
  3. Parker- With so much evidence we now have about pre-swing dynamics that set up a player to be successful, why do they resist so much? Sano has so much movement in his hands, and an unbalanced stance he is nagging it hard on himself before the pitch is even released. We see this same thing when young players are called up, only to slow down their hands, adopt a solid stance and have success. Older Twins like plouffe and cuddyer had to go through the same transformation. Why isn't this being corrected in the minors?
  4. Changes look pretty similar to what Trevor Plouffe did before his breakout. Like the analysis Parker.
  5. Hold on to your butts. This trade war fiasco is creating some turbulence. Once a deal is stuck, will be time to buy.
  6. What are they expecting to open at? When are they going public?
  7. Still paying off student loans. Have a nice amount saved now, but not enough to pay them all off. In 3-5 years, and my wife working full time again, I'm sure we'll start being able to save much much more. 34 now.
  8. I read he claims to have felt good.... Strange. It seemed like he wasn't even in the gameplan.
  9. Brady was bad, but at least they moved the ball. After watching the super bowl, Brady should seriously think of retiring. He is already slowing down, and is another year worth it? He doesn't have much help on offense outside of Michel and Edelman. Money talks, but man.... 6 titles and 9 appearances might never be accomplished again. The NFL has turned the super bowl into a lifeless stageshow. No emotion. No atmosphere. Football was the afterthought. I enjoy the tradition of gathering with friends to watch, but man... What a waste of time. Commercials even sucked (my guess is many companies were priced out). Might be the worst super bowl I've ever watched.
  10. Horrible play calling by the Rams, and terrible play by Goff. Disappointing game all around. Edelman basically won the game by himself.
  11. Minneapolis is a great city. I don't fault players for being snow birds, but there are plenty of reasons to enjoy the winter months. Ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, skiing, etc. The weather argument is a cop out. People that don't like the weather in Minneapolis, won't like the weather in New York, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Washington DC either. It is always about money. Always. The Twins have never been shot down by a big ticket free agent after giving the best offer.
  12. I'm all in on Machado. A big contact takes him through his prime years. Once Lewis is ready move Machado to third and Sano to first. If Javier is pushing to be in the bigs you trade him for a starting pitcher. Guys like this, as young as he is don't come available too often. Pull the trigger and this team is instantly better. Depending on how the year goes, a trade for an Ace at the deadline could be a difference maker.
  13. I'm hoping we'll see a bit of a resurgence..... Then I'm allocating 30% of my 401k to bonds. I don't have the swagger to play with real money like you Brock. After the 2020 election I expect the market to go nuts if the economy can hang on that long. Sooner or later there has to be some sort of recession right? Right!?
  14. Nice win. Georgia tech thought they were going to walk through the gophers. Have to feel positive about the past 4 games. Still don't think the qb position is solidified. With all these transfers from big school, maybe fleck can snag a good one. Minnesota should try to get bowl in the Vikings stadium. The ice bowl!
  15. 8th on the big ten... That is pretty telling to me. Maybe someday Fleck will convince a 5 star recruit sitting for 3 years at Alabama is dumb.
  16. Doesn't mean anything. Coaches get fired after their contract is extended all the time. At least he beat Bucky, and the team showed some clout at the end. There is reason to be cautiously optimistic for 2019. Plus, players seem to be doing well in school, which is good to emphasize.
  17. I reallocated my 401k today. Still aggressive, just diversified my funds a little better. Sitting at 13% bonds now... hopefully I won't regret not putting more into bonds.
  18. Things are getting real sketchy for the market. Down 700 now, oil uncertainty and the China trade war threatening. Could just be a minor blemish, but could also be the start of a trend. Markets all over the world down big.
  19. The decisive wins over Purdue and Wisconsin at the end show progress. Having Brooks and Smith back next year will help the offense, and Winfield will help the defense. See if Fleck can pull any big time recruits.
  20. Best win for Fleck thus far. Defense was a little soft at times, but the turnovers won the game. Gophers deserved it, and played hard. Hopefully it won't be so long until the next time they win the axe. A lot of key players come back next year too, so there I have hope they can be better.
