  1. This is baseball. When you are hot...you are hot. The strength of the opposition can mean little... or not.
  2. When you follow a team, season after season, good seasons and bad, the small things become a big deal. We can all be thankful that the Twins have played interesting baseball this year regardless of the results. And after all ... is results really the only reason we are fans ?
  3. From Molitor's perspective (with his head up his ass ) Nunez is a good SS.
  4. He's young. He may be distracted by booze and women. How many times have we seen that happen ?
  5. I hate all conversations about pitch framing. The idea of pitch framing is the assumption that the umpires often make bad calls. Since the umpires get many calls wrong, and we currently have the technology to call balls and strikes with 100% accuracy using cameras and whatnot .... then MLB should let technology call the pitches and leave the umpires out of it.
  6. never ever trade an everyday player for a pitcher. It almost always fails. (see Meyer) (see May - who has given us a good 2015 while the Phillies have gotten 3 good years of every day play from Revere).
  7. Right now Plouffe is ranked the #9 active 3rd Baseman in Baseball for the season, using Yahoo Fantasy League stats. (This compares Runs, HR, RBI, Stolen Bases & Batting Average.) He is rated only behind Josh Donaldson of Toronto, Manny Machado of Baltimore and in a virtual tie with Kyle Seager of Seattle. Plouffe is clearly one of the top 3rd basemen in the game and could be traded straight up for a top-flight catcher.
  8. and look at July 4th. 4 hits, all to right field Joe is always worth watching when he is at bat. and he has become a pretty good first baseman as well.
  9. Will Arcia ever see Target Field again? >>> I sure hope so >>> and soon
  10. If the Rochester starters are indeed knocking on the door, then the Red Wings should have a great record in July and August.
  11. This list is even more impressive given the absence of Nick Burdi, Zach Jones and Jake Reed. These were thought to be the Twins relievers of the future but they have all struggled in AA.
  12. to get something we have to give something... and the thought of giving up any of our precious prospects makes me cringe... I would be much happier to keep who we have, add Sano and hope for the best.
  13. I always liked the idea of Tomkin, however, I was not impressed with his performance. I love the idea of Meyer. the relief pitcher and I hope I will love his performance as well.
  14. I appreciate the links to your other articles in the series. It was good to catch up on the ones I missed.
  15. Remember. Rosario and Sano were Appy League leaders in batting, HR & RBI. Rosario, Sano and Vargas tore threw Beloit together and again in 2013, terrorized at Ft Meyers. Injuries and bad judgement have separated the 3 of them, but they could be reunited again at Target Field in September (if not sooner). At least that is my hope.
  16. Every day I check the Lookouts box-score to see what Kepler did. I expect to see him in Minnesota in September.
  17. I cannot fault your logic. I admit, I have never been a fan of the LOOGY, except when the LOOGY is ultra successful. (My hindsight may not be 20-20, but I know how I feel). I agree, considering their current performances, to drop Duensing and Thompson and give Thielbar a try. Otherwise, the Twins are better off without a LOOGY.
  18. To bring up Meyers, the Twins will have to drop 3 !!! count 'em !!! THREE !!! of our current relievers. One must go to make room for Santana. One must go to make room for Nolasco. And one must go to make room for Meyers. Everybody will pick Duensing,,, some will pick Thompson... Who next ??? Tomkin ? Even if you brought up Meyers first, the other choices must be made.
  19. I wouldn't give up anything for a guaranteed World Championship. The games are the things that are important to me. The players are the thing that is important. The good players the good plays. The bad players and the dropped balls. Even Aaron Hicks. It is the season that is important. The story that the season tells. The thrill of watching Buxton running the bases or the agony of watching Joe strike out. The story is the thing and I would never trade it for a guaranteed World Series Triumph. Never.
  20. I wish the Pohlads would work a deal with Mauer, so that he could retire and become a part owner of the Twins. This way Mauer could leave gracefully while his Hall of Fame credentials are still partially intact.
  21. this seems to me like the first of many moves to come. We can only hang on, watch and enjoy.
  22. As soon as the Twins drop below .500, they should call up Buxton and bat him 3rd, and Sano and bat him 4th. They will struggle. They may not do as well as Mauer and Plouffe, but we fans would love to see it.
  23. I watch each game expecting a good pitching performance from the starter. Even Gibson, after giving up the 3 run Home Run, went on to pitch well into the 7th. He gave the Twins a chance to come back. These starters are fun to watch, especially Pelfrey.
  24. I'm Panicking ! I'm Panicking !
