Kirilloff should just offically change his name to Killeroff and make it more "twinslike" and easier for the fans.

Rumor: Twins among teams 'seriously in play' for Rodon
h2oface replied to Musk21's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
After they didn't buy Verlander, I don't really care. This FO likes to wait until the main course has been taken off the table and nibble at the cold sides. My bet is that Rodon has had his light shine as bright as it ever will, and he will tank from here on out. Maybe one good year left. But he has not proven he is a durable starter at all. Verlander would have been better to have than Correa last year (for the $ especially) and the next 2. I bet the contract Rodon signs will be a total albatross for whoever. That said..... SPEND JOE SPEND!!!!! Get the best pitching you can, and sooner than later. -
Rumor: Yankees Discussing Trading for Twins Outfielders

Kepler for Volpe. We need another SS prospect. Trading Kepler before we see how he does with the new shift rules feels awfully short sited. -

Rumor: Dodgers Interested in Carlos Correa
h2oface replied to Brock Beauchamp's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/twins-among-teams-with-interest-in-dansby-swanson.html "The Dodgers are reportedly uninterested in Correa, ...." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/12/dodgers-are-not-pursuing-carlos-correa.html "The departure of Trea Turner to the Phillies has left the Dodgers with a bit of a hole at shortstop, but it seems they won’t be filling that spot with top free agent option Carlos Correa. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the team is not pursuing the former Astro and Twin, in part due to his involvement in the Astros’ sign-stealing team of 2017 that beat the Dodgers in the World Series, and how that might upset a large portion of their fanbase." End of story? hmmmmmmmmm. I guess they DO care, and reality is calling. -

The Twins Have a Corner Outfield Conundrum
h2oface replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
So crowded that last year we ended up with Cave, Contreras, and Wallner. May as well trade Kirilloff. Most don't seem to care enough about him to even learn to actually spell his name right after all these years.- 34 replies

Is a Healthy Tyler Mahle an Ace?
h2oface replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The best part about Mahle, with his 4.00ish ERA, is that now that he is on the Twins and doesn't pitch to/at us, he can't break Buxton's hand anymore with one of his out of control pitches. Expected numbers are never as attractive as actual performance.- 29 replies

I wouldn't say that is always true. As nasty as the whole cheating scandal was in Houston, after the changes and penalties, the Houston "culture" seems to be quite successful when it comes to results, if a "winning culture" is what the goal is. And that was with what may be the most active owner in baseball since the scandal. The players still have to suffer through endless hatred on the road, and seem to all like each other, have bonded together, and appear to very much be a family - even the rookies like Jeremy Pena.

"Most recently, as Executive Vice President, he was involved in the rollout of the new Twins branding, logo, and uniforms, including introducing the changes to the media and fans at the Mall of America earlier this month." "Executive VP of Brand Strategy". Rebranding is his one shining moment so far? Impressive. Fashionista. Something that really means something. That's something to hang his (new) hat on........... But seriously.... I wish him the best. Nepotism doesn't have to be a negative. I hope he likes to spend lots of his Dad's and Uncles' money.

Minnesota Twins Extension Candidate: Joe Ryan
h2oface replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
"Batters hit .245 against his slider but slugged nearly .500 against it. However, the xSLG versus his slider was 143 points lower, so that might point to luck from batters against that pitch." Not quite sure what you are saying here....... @Cody Christie I can't see either party wanting an extension yet at this point - one year of the show in the books. -

How Big is the Twins Catching Problem?
h2oface replied to Ted Schwerzler's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sign Contreras and Narvaez and you have the R/L covered, and trade Jeffers or, if options left, have him for depth. That is what he should be. Depth, He has had many years to mature and he is just getting worse at the plate.- 64 replies

Ranking the Twins' 2023 Rookie of the Year Candidates
h2oface replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Everyone has opinions. I agree with Jim Callis, that our best chance for a ROY is Lewis. Wallner, with very weak defense and worse than Sanoesque strikeout tendencies (and in the minors) would be a massive surprise for me. https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/pipeline-drafts-2023-rookie-of-the-year-teams?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage- 29 replies

Andrew Heaney is the Best the Twins Can Do
h2oface replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
"with great stuff "..... I love it. Stuff. The oft used term/phrase. Stuff. They consistently under perform for years with the "great (unspecific) stuff", yet are always worth another try to watch them get bombed again on your team, all the while flashing some flashes of that elusive "great stuff". And they get paid several millions of dollars to fail once again. Hell, our pitching gurus of a FO picked up the pitcher with perhaps the worst overall stat lines for a relief pitcher spanning the last three seasons and two different teams and leagues, Pagan, because of what? Wait for it.........."Stuff". Sometimes, they are even "young for their level" and have the "great stuff". That is some heavy stuff.- 34 replies

Blayne Enlow is Entering a Make or Break Season
h2oface replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Seems like the favorite thing to repetitively say is "young for his level", like that ever matters in the scope of a career. The minors are full of long term players that will never make it and get old there. Young is 20 to 23 for the show. 24 -28/9 is prime time for most that make it. I guess it is a fall back for writing about someone, regardless if it really matters. -
