  1. You are in luck! Okay, this is the real link: https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=rf&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2019&month=0&season1=2019&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0
  2. I'd argue the exact opposite. He was drafted in 2013 (in the ninth round, no less!), and despite being a catcher, he was in the majors by 2017. The following year he was a primary catcher. For a pretty good prospect, that's a nice pace through the minors. For a ninth rounder, that's fast. For a ninth round catcher that's breakneck. For a ninth round catcher who was the best hitting catcher in the game last year, that's ludicrous speed.
  3. It's an interesting argument, but couldn't the lack of championship parity also be due to the nature of the game of baseball vs. the other major sports? Even the best baseball teams lose (and are expected to lose) 35-40% of the time. It's part of the reason for the Moneyball-style "get to the playoffs and see what happens" goal.
  4. Look for me in the nosebleeds tonight. I'll be the guy in the Twins jersey getting beer dumped on him.
  5. I could not believe that there was a flight from Toledo to Detroit, so I looked it up. It technically exists, via American Airlines, it costs more than $300, and it connects in Chicago. On the other hand, it's about an hour's drive.
  6. I agree that the lineup with Cave, Schoop, and Perez was unlikely to win, but oddly enough the Vegas line was only Atl -115. We were the underdogs, but not by that much. I suppose that makes some sense, since we're never totally out of the game with the Bomba Squad.
  7. I love what you writers do on these recaps, and I'd also love it if we brought back the game score metric. Berrios was on fire today.
  8. As pessimistic as only a fresh loss to the Yankees can make them. I’d place a large wager on the Twins being a playoff team. I’d venture to guess that most serious bettors would.
  9. In a weird coincidence they do. They were crossing the street, and someone just hit them with a bright red Dodge that the lady witnesses could only describe as “super sexy,” though it was unclear whether they were referring to car, driver, or both. Thankfully the car is way slower than it looks and both pitchers are expected to make a full recovery.
  10. Seems like another Trevor May type: good stuff, no control, below-average results. I think one is enough.
