  1. I'm sorry hawk but he isn't a top manager ,,, look what hinch did with Detroit ,, Not once have I said he’s a Top 5 manager. Of course Hinch is better. I do however think he’s an upper tier manager. Look what the old has been larussa did with white Sox I really have a hard time grasping this argument right here. It seems like you’re trying to say that LaRussa is a good manager and leader. Do you remember the incident involving Yermin Mercedes that was all over the news? How can you look at that and think LaRussa is the right man for that team? On the other hand, LaRussa’s managing style is incredibly dated. Baldelli had a talented team? Well LaRussa had a talented team as well. even last year Rocco could have won a few more games if he made better choices with what he had on the roster ,,, Would that really make you think better of his performance? If they went 78-84 instead of 73-89? It’s hard for a manager to ever look good with a losing record. Rocco took leave to have a baby delivered and his replacement won 4 in arow and went 4-1 ... Ah yes. Because Bill Evers’ whopping five games definitely has more validity than Baldelli’s 300+…
  2. I wish there were more color commentators like Romo. Not an Aikman fan, but at least he’s not Collinsworth. Joe Buck probably isn’t leaving, because his contract expires in 2023. Maybe Greg Olsen replaces Aikman.
  3. The players performed well. So ****ing what? That doesn’t mean he gets all of the blame and zero of the credit. If players performing well can mask a manager’s flaws, couldn’t literally constant injuries and a hodgepodge pitching staff make life for the manager more difficult?
  4. https://nypost.com/2022/02/23/troy-aikman-close-to-leaving-fox-for-monday-night-football/amp/ Looks like Troy Aikman is leaving FOX to go to ESPN. It appears there are rumors around Joe Buck as well.
  5. If Cousins wants the money, that’s fine. I’m not criticizing him for that. However, I want to win a SB. I think most fans do as well. If he doesn’t want to win a SB, he can go make his money elsewhere.
  6. If I was a QB and wanted to win a SB, I would. Because winning a SB when your QB takes up $40M+ of your cap is nearly impossible. Take a look at the following statistics. No QB taking up $40M+ of the cap has won a SB in the last 20 years.
  7. His team has a lot of holes that need to be filled, maybe some of that money could go elsewhere?
  8. Interestingly enough, here’s a list of the last 20 SB winning QBs: Stafford, 2022: $20M Brady, 2021: $28M Mahomes, 2020: $2M Brady, 2019: $15M Foles, 2018: $4M Brady, 2017: $14M P. Manning, 2016: $19M Brady, 2015: $19M Wilson, 2014: $1M Flacco, 2013: $7M E. Manning, 2012: $9M Rodgers, 2011: 6.5M Brees, 2010: $13M Roethlisberger, 2009: $28M E. Manning, 2008: $13M P. Manning, 2007: $10M Roethlisberger, 2006: $10M Brady, 2005: $6M Brady, 2004: $9M Johnson, 2003: $5.5M Only two QBs in the past 20 years have won a SB whilst making more than $25M. Two out of twenty.
  9. https://sportsnaut.com/kirk-cousins-no-interest-in-pay-cut-could-get-40m/amp/ So Cousins wants to play here but he won’t take a paycut when it would really help his team out. What a leader!
  10. This is a statement I definitely agree with, and it’s why I think Falvey and Levine get much more of the blame for 2021 than Baldelli. I guess yeah, I was wrong to say that very few losses were tied to in-game management. I guess, in a way, every loss by any team is tied to in-game management. But I don’t think it’s fair to say that Baldelli is out-managed regularly.
  11. You’re really going to need to elaborate on this one. Few of the losses this year had much to do with his in-game management.
  12. I don’t think either of these statements are correct. Donaldson was expected to get more around 4 years/$110M, and the Twins got him for $18M less. He’s lived up to the contract he was given. The Twins didn’t make a mistake. On the other side of that equation, the Twins looked to be a team going for it in 2020. I don’t think it was foolish for Donaldson to come here. Obviously they came up short in 2020 and then Falvey and Levine made a series of ****-ups that resulted in the disaster of 2021. Maybe it will ultimately be a mistake, but in Donaldson’s case it made sense at the time.
  13. Baldelli has been heavily praised and heavily criticized by Twins fans all over the internet. In 2019, he won MOTY, yet two years later people were calling for his job. This brings up the question: What do Twins fans think of Baldelli as a whole? Where do you think Baldelli ranks all of the other among MLB managers and why?
  14. 1) I read Front Page content here for about a year before I registered. I thought the content was really good and I wanted to start commenting on the forums. 2) What keeps me here is forums and the community. I don’t do as many blogs, but they also play a role. I enjoy creating forum topics about the Twins on this site, mainly because I love the Twins. 3) I’m not sure what exactly should be added in terms of new features. I always love new stuff, so some new toys to play with when creating forum topics would be nice.
  15. I’m currently sitting in utter bafflement as to why he would even go poking around that locker room. He’s an executive for ****’s sake.
  16. Wish Petty the best and hope he becomes a big time arm for the Twins one day.
  17. If the Twins were to trade one of them, I’d much rather see Sanó go than Donaldson. I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks that. The problem with trading Sanó is that it’s going to be quite hard to find a trade partner.
  18. Rules: 1. Memes only. No words. 2. Everything must be safe for work 3. Snark and sarcasm are welcome; disrespectfulness is not
  19. Maybe but don’t forget about the red flag that he plays in Coors. Defensively he’s superb but you probably won’t get the offensive production out of him as a Twin than the offensive production that we’ve seen from him as a Rocky.
