    I would be fielding calls not seeking out employers if I was Maddon and his agent. We're not talking about some mid-level corporate job -- Maddon can wait for the offers to come to him. A bit of an arrogant view? Perhaps, but Maddon is a prime commodity. He is the "sought after" not the "seeker".

    I don't know what sway he has but I think he is pretty well respected by the organization and I think there is a good chance he'll be at TF next year instead of Roc just not as manager. Hope there is good phone service from Venezuela to Maddon.

    Other than Ozzie (whom I would not want), I don't think any manager would have that much impact on ticket sales. And with Ozzie, I'd only be interested in seeing the train wreck.

    I'm confused on the Glynn thing since the Twins AAA team is now in Tenn. What does "may not return to Rochester" mean? (This isn't facetious because I've read similar comments from sportswriters. I'm just confused.)

    Don't have any idea about most major leaguers but since I'm still catching up, I'll also post this nugget from Berardiino which bodes well on the maturity question: Hicks and longtime girlfriend Lauren Roberts have pushed back their original wedding date of Nov. 8, which should enable Hicks to follow through on his plans to play in Venezuela for the next month or so.     Just saw that Glynn is bench coach for Bravos de Margaritas. Hope that Hicks benefits from that.

    This is basically how I felt the Twins would come to the Sabermetrics altar. Ryan has faith in Goin because Jack started as TR's admin asst but Goin still has to be cautious about what he can push on the field staff. It will be interesting to see how this develops with a new manager.

    I have always thought that Hardy's greatest strength was also his greatest weskness--that was his unbounding loyalty. It led to the continued presence of Anderson and sometimes to sticking with players that were clearly hurting Morneau when he had the back problem). But I also think that sense of loyalty was what got the team to stick together in some of those magical seasons. Nevertheless it was time tor a change.

    The exchange was funny and the survey question was stupid (and living in Iowa, I have been exposed to lots of stupid survey questions by political groups this year when I bother to listen).
