  1. Bob Nightengale of the USA Today is now reporting that the Dodgers are aggressively pursuing Dozier and that the Twins interest is now been "piqued." In other words, the Dodgers look ready to overpay
  2. I think we need to bring up Wheeler, Baxendale, and Reed. We've seen plenty of what we have in the bullpen now, and need to get a look at these guys. For sentiments sake, I'd love to see Beresford get a shot, even if only for a month. I think Suzuki and Kintzler may be moved by tomorrow, so that will open up a couple of spots and I would definitely like to see Garver be the everyday catcher for the last month.
  3. Pretty good return, I'd be really impressed if he can dump Nolasco for anything.
  4. I agree with the locks, Palka, Jorge, Romero and if keep both catchers, Garver and Turner, having just Centeno on the roster is not ideal. Of the ML 25 man now, I don't see Suzuki, Santana, Plouffe, And Abad back. I am hoping we can just buy out Nolasco and move on, a la John Danks
  5. I agree, he is basically a DH and we have plenty of those. He should not be taking at bats away from Kepler or Sano (now I'm hoping Sano heads back to 3b), but he shouldn't be taking away from Rosario when he gets back. Grossman is only 26 also
  6. He is a DH and we have plenty of those. His defense is atrocious. They need to end the Sano experiment and send Plouffe packing, although it would be helpful if he actually heated up
  7. I would add trade Plouffe and put Sano back in the infield. That would give you room to promote Buxton and Kepler and play Arcia everyday. If I remember correctly, the Twins will have huge decisions to make on the 40-man this offseason
  8. I agree that Meyer should be starting in AAA. But the early yank was ridiculous compared to even his management of Berrios the night before. Also sitting him for 9 days was ridiculous. You could have brought Grahsm up to do that. The Twins 40 man management has caused this issue, no options without risking losing players that won't ever use.
  9. Jake McGee from the Rays is still on the block. Didn't start 2015 while recovering from surgery. 48K in 37.1 IP with 0.94 WHIP
  10. Hicks has had one good half a season. I think it's worth the shot, which barring moves means Buxton will start in CF
  11. I doubt Arcia gets traded at this point. But once again, Ortiz was hurt at all times and nobody signed him until the end of spring training for $1 million, and Ortiz blossomed, sure we had him, but he never produced for us
  12. I agree, the Twins actually got the best of the trade vs. the White Sox. Now Frankie has been better with the Bucs, but the White Sox got nothing.
  13. I am actually very optimistic about this club. It's been a long time since we had four credible starters in the rotation. Heck, it's been a long time since we had three
  14. Dozier's style of play reminds me of Molitor. I'm not saying he is Molitor, but the base running, aggressiveness, etc seem like Molitor
  15. I don't give a crap about the $$, the Twins certainly have money, unless they say this is it, then I will be mad. I'd like to take a run at Masterson on a Hughes like deal. Maybe Torii can help Hicks get his head out of his rear end. His RH bat will certainly help break up the lefties
  16. I think Gardy could have a job such as the Rangers waiting for him if he decides to step down. I think TR stays though. We need radical change in the stale clubhouse and I think Dougie would bring it. It would be interesting to see what kind of staff he could assemble. I think Gene Glynn as a bench type coach would bring some experience. I'm fine going all young on the staff though
  17. Does the coaching staff at Cedar Rapids get moved up next year? I still think the crew at New Britain has been the likeliest to go.
  18. So far so good for this 2014 draft. Curtiss striking out ten the other night. Burdi promoted after his first outing looked putrid, Gordon holding his own in a league where he is very young. Batts, pretty good for a 17th round pick.
  19. Well I believe Steinbach is the bench coach, so yes we would need another pitching coach and Cuellar would be fine by me.
  20. As much complaining as there has been about the poor Target Field product, Terry Ryan has replenished the farm system to its usual form. The future I believe is bright, but its taking a long time. I have also finally come to the realization that even though I like Gardy as a manager, it may be time for a new voice. I'd be fine with Molitor and keeping Steinbach and Bruno, but the rest of the staff needs a change. I am probably one of the last on this site to come to this realization. As for Terry Ryan, I would keep him in his place though.
  21. As much as we are not seeing it at Target Field, the minor league system has really been built back to the normal TR standards
  22. Vargas, Santana and Hopefully May and Meyer will be reasons to keep watching in my book.
  23. I expect to see May and Milone very soon. While I would at least like to see him get a couple of starts this year with the Twins, I wouldn't be shocked if he's left in Rochester, especially if the Wings are in the playoffs

    Why I Liked Bill Smith

Mr. Smith did make deals, mostly bad ones... I guess I'd take TR any day. He got Milone for a waiver wire pickup this year. There was no market at all for Hammer and Correia.
