  1. Rortvedt seems a little high on WAR don't you think? and can Donaldson and Garver stay that healthy? so its 9.7 WAR for 5.6 WAR + Story at 4.5 = 10.1 WAR and salary traded = 29.7 million and new money = lets go with 22 for story and 25.15 = 47.15 million.
  2. C is going to be an issue and now we can't even sign Astudillo anymore as he signed with Miami yesterday. with all of the hoopla yesterday we totally missed this signing.
  3. at the end of the day, this is essentially a three team trade with the Rangers and Yankees. Garver, Donaldson, Revordt to the Yankees and Rangers while the Rangers get Garver and the Yankees get Donaldson, Falefala, and Revordt and we get 2 prospects and Sanchez and Urshala and a cash savings. We downgraded in overall talent but not by a whole lot and freed up capital. we sign Story and get another good starter and reliever then this trade is a huge win because it gives us the capacity to accomplish those things. if we do not, then what a waist. so for now the trade is graded as incomplete because the remaining moves will determine if it is successful or not.
  4. Exactly! This trade caught me off guard if we sign Story then I apologize to Falvey and Levine for not trusting you! Although at this time I prefer the players we started with. But with the added flexibility we get Story or Correa then blam nice off-season.
  5. I question the lineup at this point. Let’s see though. DH Sano 1B Killeroff 2B Polanco SS Felafa 3B Donaldson RF Kepler CF Buxton LF Rooker or Larnarch or Miranda? C Jeffers ok if Jeffers can OPS over .750 and Falefa can get over .700 I will feel better and someone needs to win LF and run with it. we could use at least 1 more starter. Maybe a pen arm.
  6. I forget we are probably competing for that 12th playoff seat. Anything can happen in the playoffs. You just gotta believe.
  7. After the Gray trade do you still feel this way? I think a Bassit trade would require we try to extend him. A 4 year 60 million would do that and give us a Berrios quality pitcher at fewer years and fewer dollars per year.
  8. I do like the move as a win now. Just that the team has been a transition team all offseason to date and subtracted offense when they didn’t have to yesterday
  9. By signing Bundt you are buying time for a minor leaguer to step up and take his job.
  10. This move is a head scratcher in that this is the first win now move they made all offseason. All of the other moves said this is a transition year. We could have had Bassit for so much ch less
  11. I guess the biggest positive about this trade is that I don’t have to be vested in this season so I probably will not follow them as much this year. This doesn’t feel like a good trade at all.
  12. So we trade a catcher and 200 OPS points to gain a SS and maybe 80 OPS points gain. Why not resign Simmons and keep Garver? We come out ahead this way.
  13. The Twins did resign Minaya today to a minor league deal. So we have that to talk about. but I will say we trade for Bassit and extend him. And sign Pineda at SS we signed several options so look for some other low level signing to compete for SS. And sign an inexpensive OF to compete for LF with other in house options.
  14. Gibson was projected to go top 5 in that draft. There was concern of him needing Tommy John surgery which he did. That is why he fell in the draft. We were ecstatic to get him.
  15. wasnt hrbeck a top prospect? infact the 1980 - 1982 Twins minor league system was full of them.
  16. I remember him hitting a player then Deleon Young got hit in retaliation and went after Jose instead of the opposing pitcher
  17. in being fair, we drafted him at 16 years of age. Being that he made it to the show is beating all reasonable expectations. Though I would have liked to see more production. in terms of more AB, HRs, RBIs and fewer K's. but he can still be a 400 HR hitter with 1000-1200 RBI if he gets after it when all is said and done. I hope he has more years with the Twins after this one.
  18. Sano's bat took off last season after the league cracked down on pitchers. So, I think that solves his biggest problem at the plate. I suspect Sano will have a big year this year. He is primed to have a 40 HR 100 RBI season.
  19. I consider not starting the season on time a big FU to the fans. So, I will give them and FU back. I will not spend money in anyway shape or form for at least a season maybe more. (only exception is a Twins World Series Appearance)
  20. They Twins have another option for 2B, SS, 3B. I doubt he was signed to play SS. He could get some games there. It does seem the Twins budget has been cut. We will find out of no other IF get signed. But like this article states he us likely to split time at 2b and 3rd and compete with Gordon for time. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/02/twins-sign-former-top-pick-tim-beckham-to-minors-deal.html
  21. With Bundy a low cost pick up and if the Twins go out and get another low cost pickup like Odorizzi or Pineda or both (sorry can't think of other pitchers off the top of my head) and say we are all good on pitchers then we easily have money for an Story book finish to the offseason.
