  1. Nashville Predators? Are they looking to upgrade at enforceher?
  2. Click bait. Old news from early December. Link a source, if you have something new.
  3. I agree. The majority sentiment with Kepler (on this site anyway) seems to be get rid of him and assume that (insert young LH OF) will be healthy and better. 2.1 bWAR is going to be a tall order for any of those players. I still think Kepler has more value to the Twins at this moment then he will returning trade pieces.
  4. Correa thought he was a Dior product, but he's really a Best Buy open-box-item. Edit: Looks like I was kinda ninja'd by DJL44
  5. Making the Major League Baseball All-Star Game as a starter at shortstop is a failure at shortstop? Tough game.
  6. If signed, Rocco will pull him back down to earth. 5.5? That's crazy!
  7. Best thing I've read on TD, since RiverBrian's "Confessions ...."
  8. Gift ideas to send to 41 Seaver Way: The albatross diet is predominantly cephalopods, fish, crustaceans, and offal (organ meat), although they also scavenge carrion and feed on other zooplankton. (source = wikipedia)
  9. I'm just going by the period since they started signing homegrowns and buying out FA years. Deals like those are good for keeping the base at a higher level. The team is sitting what $40 mill? under 2022 payroll. Rodon, Swanson, and maybe Thor, JD Martinez are the only ones left that I consider good fits that will put a large dent in that. I don't see the Twins signing more than one of those four players, and I really don't like the years that Rodon wants considering his health history. If they can't get those guys, why not use the payroll to buyout FA years on Joe Ryan, Luis Arraez or even Jose Miranda? I understand that not everyone will think those particular players are the correct targets for those kind of contracts.
  10. Spend the money on buying free agent years from homegrown talent by giving them signing bonuses and life-changing money that is hard to turn down. Precedent for success Kepler - 9.2 bWAR and counting on 5/$33m Polanco - 12.6 bWAR and counting on 5/$26m Precedent for failure Sano - 0.1 bWAR on 3/$30m Total - 21.9 bWAR and counting on 13/$89m + League Minimum and Change for whoever has to fill in for the failure. That's where I'm at, but I'm open to being picked apart on the idea.
  11. Vazquez is a huge upgrade over Sanchez, IMO. He immediately starts out as the second best catcher in the division behind Salvy - The Great One. I could see him earning half to two-thirds of that contract in year 1 and then see the time share with Jeffers swing in Ryan's favor more in years 2 and 3.
  12. A tree named "The Rule 5 Draft" fell in the woods somewhere. Meanwhile, Brent Headrick is one bad weather day or bullpen overwork streak from .....
  13. It's always about the ride. The problem of late is that the changes in the game are turning the ride from the Renegade into the Antique Autos. Hopefully, the rule changes in 2023 will help to change that.
  14. Couldn't agree more, but, in the end, they'll follow the greenbacks. I can't imagine a downtown location having those massive tailgate lots, and that will be a bummer for many.
  15. My siblings and I got New York Times birthday books for my parents last year for the Ma and Pa holidays. That led me to check if they have baseball books. Guess what? https://store.nytimes.com/collections/custom-gifts/products/baseball-history-book?variant=37270400776 Unfortunately, the "deluxe" editions are only available for Mets and Yankees fans, but I guess I can give a publication from New York a pass on that. ?
  16. "Baseball is constantly looking for ways to make improvements to the game so that younger fans are more likely to stay interested. "
  17. Hopefully, Luis can stay in a Twins uniform as long as those other guys did.
