  1. I'll be a homer and say sign the Chaska High School alum. I'd rather see Megill get optioned than Moran though. I'm high on Moran for '23. Don't let it turn into a Matt Belisle situation though. Can you imagine if the Twins won the World Series with Thielbar, Varland, Wallner and Hand all on the roster?
  2. I don't mind the position players not pitching rule. Be competitive. F the Manfred Man.
  3. Good objective list. It should be interesting to see who keeps their spot and who gets knocked out in 2023. Who would be your top 5 starters and top 3 relievers? Also, inb4 "How is Kepler on here?"
  4. TNSTAAPP For me, it's a fool's game to say much more than that cliche acronym on Prielipp. Wait and see approach on this one. Kohl Stewart, ya fooled me once. Tyler Jay, ya fooled me twice. I won't be fooled again!
  5. Joe Ryan for me. OP should get a poll going at the top of this post, if possible. @Squirrel might be able to help.
  6. 😕 Longest tenured Twin. Over 750 games well above league average OPS All Star Top 15 MVP Vote Finisher $25 Million Yeah, I'd say he's already made it, and he won't ever be broke (unless he is incredibly off-the-field stupid, which I doubt).
  7. I can't help but think this ranking may have been influenced by some desire to feel better about the Arraez trade. I still think it was a solid trade, as much as I absolutely hated it, even if Salas is more of top 15 guy than a top 10 guy. I agree with the above comment that 2024 is a pretty aggressive ETA based on the current body of work. However, I probably would have said the same thing about Jarvis Brown in 1990, and that's the only path I see for Salas hitting the Bigs in 2024 at this point.
  8. Just a few more weeks, and we can hopefully move from speculation to observation.
  9. Hopefully, the sleek and sexy has more to do with moving weight around than losing a bunch of weight. Not to set the bar too high, but Arenado plays at 6'2", 215# and doesn't have any trouble with the 30/100 production even in St. Louis. Miranda is listed at 6'2", 210#, so he's in the ballpark 😉.
  10. This has got to be the worst article I've read on this site since the one about Josh Donaldson being one of the most despised Twins ever. Was this an assignment for your "How To Condescend Your Readers 101" class?
  11. On opening day (assuming Brady Singer or Jordan Lyles on the mound) I'll project ... 2B Polanco SS Correa 1B Gallo CF Buxton DH Larnach 3B Miranda RF Kepler C Vasquez LF Gordon - I just have this gut feeling that Kirilloff will start the season on the IL. It sounds like his recovery is going well, but the mention of sacrificing some of spring training to have a healthier season makes me wary.
  12. Connor Kershaw, I mean Prielipp, should be fun to follow this season.
  13. His name came up during the Bauer investigation, so was this really unexpected? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/01/mike-clevinger-under-investigation-for-domestic-violence-allegations.html Never liked him. Glad he's on the White Sox, and they get to deal with him.
  14. Why would Larnach or Celestino need to be DFA'd? Both have minor league options. Larnach needs to show he's healthy, and Celestino could use some more time in minors. St. Paul should have a starting outfield of Larnach, Celestino and Wallner with Garlick at DH. Vets and guys without options start with the big club. Someone will probably, although hopefully not, get hurt. Someone may not take advantage of their opportunity and then be passed up by someone who is performing. Don't sell low. None of the outfielders are slam dunks with nothing to prove, but they all have upside or at least above-average skillsets in different parts of the game. Let them battle it out and then the trades or DFAs can occur during the season when the cream has risen to the top and the occupancy in the trainer's room becomes a familiar look.
  15. I'm still handing the ball to Joe Cool on Opening Day, but Lopez is a good addition. I really hate losing Arraez, because his PAs were often the highlights of any game. The FO was smart to sell high on Arraez instead of selling low on Kepler at this point.
  16. Seems like a decent sell high, but the fan in me just says BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
  17. SIT NEXT TO AN UNPLEASANT MAN FOR $7 This guy must have upgraded from his seat in section 110 that he had in 2019. He was a catcher in high school, so be prepared to listen to how none of the catchers on the MLB field know what they're doing for the entire game.
  18. I've given up on the regional tv deals and have chosen not to play fair until something reasonable is available.
  19. I'd do it. The Twins need to acquire talent anyway they can. Garlick was outrighted, so they would have a lower ceiling/higher floor fallback option for 2023 anyway. Would Cole Sands be enough? The Twins could maybe throw in Steven Cruz or Francis Peguero to push it through.
