  1. This weekend is the time we find out if the dream is real or is it a joke
  2. Yeah...I did my fair share of bashing the FO last year because I was very angry that they tanked the season so early however....How come almost everyone on this site knows that the major weakness of our team is the back end of our bullpen. Even before Spring Training I could clearly see that this team would score plenty of runs. ..I liked the Perez signing and I thought a wild card would be Pineda. All that has been as good as we could have hoped. But man how disappointing that guys like Kimbrell were out there and all we can come up with are Blake Parker, a washed up Cody Allen , Sergio Romo and Dyson, the third best option on what had been a last place Giants team. I'm tired if hearing how smart they are and how much money they can spend. SPEND SOME!. Didn't the Yankees just prove that they can out bash us anywhere and anytime. This was a time to make a statement. (Sort of like the Braves just did by getting Green, Melancon, and Martin....oh yeah...and Keuchel) Man a lot of really good pitchers slipped through our hands this year.
  3. too often the discretion of an official scorer skew defensive numbers even in this modern "analytical" age. How often do we hear about Polancos deficiencies as a SS. His range and arm dont seem to hurt us too bad. I would argue that Sano's cannon saves lots of outs. Cron has proven the Rays made a bad call by cutting him and keeping Choi. I havent seen as much of the games as id hope but Schoop has always had a rep as a decent defensive 2b. I wouldnt ever wanna see Schoop at SS. That outfield is WORLD CLASS. Theres prolly only one guy that could even take any of their jobs and that would be Betts.
  4. i just wanna say i think Rocco should tell Tito Francona that no more Twins will be joining the Cleveland festivities. Buck, Eddie, Max, Taylor, and Berrios(cant forget Nellie and C.J.) could all use the rest and recovery time. Its unbelievable to me that with the record we have, The White Sox and Rangers have more All Stars than we do. The fact that Lindor made the team ahead of Boegaerts is a joke. Did that fool even suit up before May 1st?
  5. ok seriously.....cave is a good player... he'd start for most mlb teams. Astudillo will always have a roster spot,....man we got great depth i lobbied for marwin and now he's hurt??? maybe Sano can thrive if he's not the "natural"
  6. i would like to give props to Duffey....man, with the adversity he has had to deal with...right on man
  7. lets not forget that these are the Champions. We still have 5 games to go against them.
  8. Hahaahaaaa no.. no way...Milone has more experience....at throwing batting practice....lol What i meant was....before long we gonna see the need for a more consistent #5 starter.(like maybe Bumgarner or Greinke)
  9. when i think of Bumgarner I cant help but think of his playoff success. I get it that die hard Anal-lyticists dont understand, but with Championship veterans in your Clubhouse, man that's just priceless. I would do whatever it takes to get Bumgarner And Smith and that just might put us over the top for 2019.
  10. yeah i love it so far...and I've been predicting a fall from grace for those smug prima donna a$$hol€s. From what i have seen so far why stop there? Lets go for broke and put our boots on the throat of the rest of the league too!! We can afford to sign Keuchel, And Kimbrell. Let's do it! Every Dynasty has started somewhere. Lets start ours now. Come on Derek...
  11. I'm all in on the satire bro....lol....it's tasting so much better when we ride a .680 winning % into the 1/3 mark of the season. Is it wrong for me to forget about the rest of the AL Central and instead ask everyone to now look at being the best in the AL. Who is better? At this point Nobody! Before anyone jumps to say Astros keep in mind we won the season series 4-3. (And tanked game 3 @ Houston with a stupid roster move). This is a very, Very good Twins team.
  12. An d I'm pretty sure the Nats aren't looking to deal any relievers that have even been adequate so far. Their pen is a capital MESS.
  13. Yeah the Kimbrell ship has sailed. With no help coming for awhile in the minors, I bet we trade for a guy that's having a successful season thus far(at the time of the trade I mean)
  14. Although it's prolly gonna be way more complicated than this-if he performs he'll be a good part of a good team. If he doesn't he better go start looking to buy a house in Rochester. He will prolly become David Ortiz #2.
  15. I wouldn't have explained it in those kind of "kind" words but that's pretty much exactly what happened. You just left out the part about tanking the season with 60 games to go.
  16. I'm old school and back in the day it was easy to see who should deserve the credit(or blame) Innovation in the game has made coaching staffs more diverse and definitely larger in numbers. Although Baldelli deserves a ton of credit, in today's game it's pretty hard to pinpoint it. certainly Johnson deserves a share. In today's game you just have to applaud the entire organization for it's approach and belief in it and their players for embracing it.
  17. I guess it depends on what special means to you. if you had told me before Spring Training that they'd be playing .667 ball at the 1/4 mark I'd have prolly laughed at you. But I did know they'd be better. I wanted them to sign Gonzalez and they DID. He hasn't even started to hit yet like he's going to. Pineda hasn't really been great, but I knew Perez had a live arm and that was a steal. What has been most impressive is the success of the coaching philosophies and the staffs way of implementing them. This team isn't going away unless they get a rash of pitching injuries. And that might not even stop them if they keep hitting this way. This is not a small sample size anymore, and they keep improving. Doubt em if you want, but I'm not gonna.
  18. I too have been been a fan of our teams my whole life. I graduated from Mpls.South in '82 and left for Texas and College that same summer. I wasn't here when the Wild, or the Timberwolves were born. To me The North Stars were The Minnesota Hockey Team. I am sure all of us that remember were surprised and even Shocked by the '87 Twins, but the '91 team, that was different...there was something special about them from Day 1. Slowly and surely I am beginning to get that same feeling this year. I never felt it from '02-'10. I admit I am always sure the Vikes are gonna blow it, but this Twins team...WOW!. I agree we need pitching help but the way they are going about the business of being winners is impressive as H€ll, and a joy to watch. I also feel that Baldelli is doing an awesome job.
  19. wow! Both of them would put us over the top! Just remember, neither if them will be super valuable until maybe after the All Star break.
